Have you ever been to Utah? If the answer is no, that should change.
Going to Utah was one of the best experiences I have ever had in my life. I went in the middle of June of this summer, and a part of me wishes that I was still there.
I went with my friend Jenna, her mother Cindy and her sister Kathy. It was what I would like to call a sister trip. I have not been on vacation in nearly four years, so this was one of the best treats to happen to me since I graduated high school, which was also five years ago.
We started in Salt Lake City, but we didn’t stay there long enough to see anything. We landed late on a Saturday night and stayed there and left for a town called Mogan the next morning. Mogan was my favorite town to visit. Before we got to Mogan we stopped at the famous arches in Utah. There are absolutely no words to even relatively describe the magnificence of these naturally made arches. I was in shock from the beauty that I was experiencing, and I think everyone else felt the same way.
When we got to Mogan, Utah it was a whopping 99 degrees -- a hot day for four girls from Cleveland and Pittsburgh. Our hotel was amazing as well: wood finish, an outdoor pool and the bed even had a mirror. The whole town was so welcoming and so kind to us. Jenna, Cindy and Kathy are all from Pittsburgh so of course we found a bar where we could watch the Pens win the Stanley Cup.
We finished up in Mogan headed to Logan, Utah the next morning. Logan was a very interesting town. The day we got there the only thing on my mind though was watching the Cavs play, only because I’m from Cleveland and, of course, I wanted us to win -- so to Buffalo Wild Wings we went. We went to Logan to see some Mormon Temples. These things were huge. When I say huge, I really mean massive. These were very beautiful structures.
The most anticipated part of the trip was Jackson, Wyoming. Getting there was building the anticipation -- three to five hours depending on the roads we took, because these things were spinning and turning all over the place. Jackson was a great little place. It's mostly known for its ski resorts, but it’s also a great place to visit in the summer. We stayed in this little one bedroom, pullout couch cabin in walking distance from the city, which was nice. This is where all the fun happened.
We went to one of the resorts in Jackson Hole and road the tram up the mountain which was over 13,000 feet high. Let me tell you, it is very cold up there, so we were not prepared at all for this, but honestly, it was one of the best experiences I have had to date. Jackson also has one of the coolest breweries that I have been to, with fantastic beer and even better food. This part of the trip included farting chili, drunken nights ending with broken ankles, shopping till we dropped, seeing Harrison Ford and climbing through our neighbor’s window one drunken night ... and getting a beer because of it. Jackson was one hell of a city which I won’t ever forget.
This vacation was Saturday to Saturday, so we had to drive from Jackson all the way back to Salt Lake to catch a flight at midnight. One thing we wouldn’t forget to do was stop at In-N-Out Burger, which in my opinion, was all that it was cracked up to be. Cindy and Kathy weren’t as impressed as Jenna and I were, but I can check that off the bucket list.
This trip all around was amazing, I wish I could explain it better than I did, but there really are no words to describe the views, the memories and the moments that I’ve experienced with amazing people who are dear to me. So thank you. And I hope that everyone can experience Utah and Wyoming one day, because you won’t regret it and you will always want to go back.
