I take a lot of things for granted in life. My health, my support systems, my jobs. I could go on. I don't appreciate nearly enough the things that God has blessed me with. Among the list of things I neglect to thank God for is the beauty that He surrounds me with daily.
The world truly is a breathtaking creation that is filled with so much wonder and beauty. Recently I decided to make more of an effort to get outside and really see what is out there by taking a walk a few nights a week. One of the first nights of walking, I discovered a beautiful reservoir that is tucked away off the road. It is situated on top of a hill so when you get to the top you can look out over all of the trees and the reservoir. I got there around sunset and stopped to watch the sunset. It was truly breathtaking.
There is something to be said about taking the time to admire nature and all it holds. Every night that I get to see the sunset, I am truly speechless. To be able to witness the colors mix and swirl as the sun sets and gives way to night, I am reminded that despite all the ugliness that marred the world, there is so much magic around us and that if you take the time to step out of what you are going through, you will be able to realize that the world is so much bigger than you and the problems you are facing.
Allow yourself to be humbled by the magnitude of the world around us. Take the time to watch the stars move across the night sky. Take the time to watch a complete sunset or sunrise and you will come to realize that although the process may be slow, the outcome is amazing and it is worth the wait to stay with it through the whole process. There's beauty in the final product but there is also so much beauty in the process.
You, much like nature, are a beautiful creation that goes through transformations. Trust the process and even when you think all is lost or it's taking you too long to get to that next big moment, remind yourself that all of what you are going through is necessary to get to the final product. Find the beauty in the process.
