To You There,

It's funny that I didn't want to come home from school this summer because that meant a boring summer stuck at home or working at our Giant Food Store all summer long. My summer was anything but that, and I have you to thank for making this one of the most exciting and memorable summers so far. I have enjoyed every second spent together with you!

I had met you the summer before at work. Then we were just acquaintances and coworkers. However, when I came back from school and worked with you again, I would have never known the impact you would have had on my life in such a short amount of time.

This summer will always be one of my favorites because it was spent with you. From our first date, mini golfing, to our last night together spent at my house with my crazy family, I have enjoyed every second of it! I also enjoyed getting to meet your amazing family!

The time has come though that I have to leave for school and I can't thank you enough for being so supportive of me as I leave. I want you to know that I am also so proud and astonished with all of your hard work. Not only do you put in long hours in at work but you also dedicate a lot of your time to your local fire department! Just know that I support you all the way, just like you do for me! I know that hard work can sometimes go unnoticed or unappreciated, but you are doing a great job!

What I am going to miss the most is how I could be having the worst day and all it took to make me smile was your smiling face. I'm going to miss all the adventures we have still not had the chance to have. I'm going to miss you singing "H.O.L.Y" as loud as you could in the car. But most importantly I am going to miss you!

I feel like we have known each other for so long already and I am going to hate being so far away, but it will all be worth it! I look forward to when we get to see each other again! I also look forward to seeing your "Good Morning" texts and our phone calls at night! I also have a few surprises of my own already planned for you, this letter being one of them!

It is crazy how someone can come into your life and change it and impact it so quickly and I am so grateful and lucky to have you in my life! You mean so much to me. We have only been dating for a little over a month but it already feels like a year! I can't wait to see what happens in the future!

I just want you to know, that even if I am over two hours away, I am always here for you and you're always on my mind! I am just a text, snapchat, or phone call away!

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
