In general, dogs make humans ecstatic and less sad. Petting a dog for just 10 minutes a day releases happy hormones! Needless to say, when the therapy dogs come to campus they help students tremendously to relieve stress. Check out some of the reasons you should be going to every therapy dog session on campus or simply spending time petting you or your friends' pups!

1. Petting dogs help releases happy hormones

The happy hormones are serotonin, prolactin and oxytocin. It also lowers the stress hormone called cortisol.

2. Therapy dogs are used all over the world

Colleges around the world participate in therapy dog programs! Some therapy dogs even wear cute little vests that say "Pet me!"

3. Age doesn't matter


Dogs love people of all ages! It really depends on the dog, but one thing every dog has in common is loving people. Most therapy dogs are trained with people of all ages, ranging from child to elderly!

4. Lowers anxiety and blood pressure

Service and therapy dogs lower anxiety and blood pressure! They offer unconditional love, recognize panic attacks and even make spirits bright!

5. All dogs have one thing in common: THEY LOVE PEOPLE

Like I stated above, all dogs love people! That's all that needs to be said about that!
