An Open Letter To The One That Got Away

I will never forget you.

Dear The One That Got Away,

You came into my life so unexpected. You changed me for the better, I can't hate you for leaving because you showed me that there is so much more to life. I still remember the first night we met; I knew it was the first time I'd seen you, I just didn't know it would be the last.

I walked into the strange atmosphere of a place I had never been to. So unfamiliar I didn't know what to expect. But then you happened, and suddenly I felt home. Out of all the options I had before me, I chose you, and I'll never regret it. I had been with someone else that night with the intent of focusing on them, but I just couldn't remove my gaze from your presence.

It was you, Olive Garden mozzarella sticks... it was always you. Never had I ever had a better mozzarella stick in my entire existence. You were perfect, golden, flawlessly melted on the inside, with the most glorious cheese dressing on top. When I first saw you, I was breathless, speechless, I couldn't think. But before I knew it you were gone. The plate you once sat on was now empty.

I miss you more than I can say; I can't fathom it into words how I feel. I hope that one day, someday, we will meet again.

With Love,

Alexis.

Grey's Anatomy

Even Shonda Rhimes, winning creator and executive producer of the hit TV shows Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder, and The Catch agrees that relationships with fictional characters are real. In her book, The Year of Yes she states, "I have spent more time with Meredith and Christina then many of my actual friends...When you watched TV, even spending a full hour with Christina once a week, you were likely spending more time with her then you spent with most people in your life. That relationship was real."

Going to the gym and working out on a daily basis (with breaks once in awhile) has been a great way for me to feel good about myself. It is 100% more than just looking good. Especially after starting college and having the stress and anxiety of tests, assignments, and just figuring out my future, the gym at my school has definitely been a place of relief for me and I have numerous reasons of why everyone should push themselves to get to the gym when they can.

Oh college, lovely, lovely college. A four-year time span that is filled with many highs and many lows. Between procrastinating on an essay that is due at midnight to getting your first library card (if you know what I mean), college is a time that you should not take for granted, yet it is also a time where you feel like your entire world is falling apart. It is a time where one day you can feel like you are on top of the world and then the next day you are 500 feet below the ground surface.
