Hatred in this country;
After the election, we had some happy people, and some not so happy people. I will begin, with the not so happy people.
I have a really hard time believing that people really “hate” Trump, when who they really hate is the Trump that they managed to see in the election. This Trump was very energized and polarizing, in an effort to get more people behind him, in a way that might have been seen as racist or sexist, but is clearly not shown in the Donald Trump that will assume office. I personally disliked him very much to start because of what I was seeing everyday, and hearing of his racist remarks and how many people persuaded me to believe he doesn't care about this country and just wants to be president for the sake of being president. But having taken the time to actually see his progress and the shaping of his political views, I do think he really cares about this country, and won't be detrimental to our progress. It has been asked of him many times whether he will run for president early on in his career, and now, the very people who asked him that question, turn on him and say it as a joke that people even consider it.
Many like to say he is not qualified and there is something to be said about that, but not to the extent that he has no feasible means to act as president correctly. He has been around the world more often than you and I, and with a business in real estate, it doesn't surprise me that he has had to keep up to date with all of the world's transactions, as well as met with the world’s leaders on occasion due to his popularity.
He's not perfect, and he's got a sizable ego to match, but he's definitely not stupid, and he's not as heartless as some people would like to claim he is. With all sides coming at him with slander campaigns it is a wonder he has won at all. Just to describe how people justify their misconceptions, it should only take having gone to one Trump rally to know that not everyone is this monster we have created them to be, yet no one I know that bashes his supporters has. The people at those rallies are usually normal people like you and I that support their own beliefs, and are willing to go out and see “The Trumpster” for what he really is. These events are rather large, inspiring and charged at times, but for the most part non-violent; as the same can be said for the opposing rallies as well.
As for his main points, it should be said that he is very passionate about these things and that is why it is heard with no filter; it doesn't surprise me that having claimed a war on political correctness from the beginning because it is growing into a more serious and far reaching problem, that some people are upset.
Many like to point out when he called immigrants rapists and murderers, but like the leave out he is talking about those who are illegal, and not just from Mexico. It only takes a google search to show that this is a legitimate concern considering there have been fewer deportations and not as much focus on where it should be, letting more and more people in, and deporting fewer of those who do not have our best interests in mind, and use our system for only their benefit. This concern and famously the one of China, have been highly disregarded, despite having a considerable effect on our country.
To clarify his issues on worries that he will remove rights from the people of the United States, he made a recent declaration that he was going to protect the rights of LGBTQ persons, and that he was happy to hear from so many republicans and his fellow people that they are ok with that because it shows progress given his supporters were painted with the widest brush on being crazy, racist, and homophobic just to name a few. He was also surprised that his supporters were the ones behind racial slurs, and that the protestors should feel safe, and for his continuing supporters to "stop it!".
So if we can see that maybe it's not going to be bad, and dare I say it, maybe even good for the country, we can learn to work together, and be more politically involved; I’m not saying I know exactly what will happen with his term as president, but I can say I favor the likely outcome over that of his opponent.
