“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you” (Heb. 13.5).
College wouldn’t be college without the tight budget and the stress of having little to no money at all. So, in honor of the 6th week of school and money complications that are really starting to settle in, here are ten college budget struggles we can without a doubt all relate to:
1. Guilt
Yes, guilt settles in after each purchase.
2. Sales
SALES ARE THE G.O.A.T (stands for, “greatest of all time,” for all you oldies out there who aren’t up to date with the new lingo).
3. Overthinking
You begin to always think about how you can make up the money you spent on that essential unessential you bought.
4. On-the-go calculations
The iPhone calculator app is now your new, most used app. Sorry, Instagram.
5. Laundry
LAUNDRY IS EXPENSIVE, but it needs to be done. Nobody wants a smelly friend.
6. Meal swipes and debit dollars
Constantly thinking about how glorious it would be if life was to consist of meal swipes and debit dollars is an everyday thought.
7. Holidays
You’re now always looking forward to the holidays because that means MORE SALES, people! Whoop, Whoop!
8. Accountability
Money is now a precious baby of yours that needs to be constantly monitored and never left undetected. Always knowing what you have in your bank account, even if the amount makes you want to cry, is important.
9. Unexpected gifts
Finding money in your clothes is the absolute greatest thing in the world. It’s like a gift to me, from me.
10. He provides
You now have a new understanding of the Lord’s provisions; He will always provide, you just have to trust in Him and know that money is a temporary struggle every person eventually goes through.
