The World is Suffering And Crying For You

It's OK to cry.

The World is Suffering And Crying For You
Telemundo

Omran, little angel with no voice and no tears, the world finally got to know you. Though under the most unfortunate circumstances but we're glad to know that you are alive.

The world became aware of your existence as we saw you wipe off the blood from your little forehead, and we are praying for you- praying for you and for all the lives that have been taken away.

Your image has gone around causing even the most cold-hearted person to shed tears for you- the world is crying for you.

At your young age you have learned the full definition of cruelty and evilness. you became aware of the terror that's caused by people who walk around carrying hate in their hearts. You have learned the dark colors of the world you live in losing faith in the humanity that no longer surrounds.

You were in the most awful situation and got to first hand experience what you could've seen on television in a scary movie or maybe while playing a video game during your teenage years. You were able to experience and see your own beloved ones suffer and that is heartbreaking. You have learned hate in a matter of seconds and were shocked by the reality of our society while you saw your family being rescued one by one

At such a young age you were forced to become silent in a place where words asking for peace are ignored and taken for granted. You were unable to cry as you felt your own pain and shock. it's okay to cry and scream how you feel.

Through all the heart-breaking images we were not only able to see how terrified you were as you were pulled out from the many bricks laying over you, but you showed how brave a tiny human being like you can be.

You have been unfortunate enough to live in a place where all that children witness are the sparks that airstrikes cause instead of fireworks in the sky. You have been forced to grow during an era in which children like you no longer play with toys but with guns and other "grown up" things they find on the streets, which caused the destruction of places and their families.

You have been through a lot and have known nothing but war. You have opened up people's eyes to the millions of people who have had it easier. Though you have only experienced war and will continue to do so as long as you live in your country, you have been one of the fortunate to survive and gladly not part of the 4,500 children who have been killed by airstrikes according to the Syrian observatory Human Rights Est. as of 8/16.

Your story has touched many around the world and we are aware that we have failed humanity. We have failed little angels like you. Though you are now probably laying down in bed recovering, just know that there are still people left in the world with kind hearts who are only willing to share love and no suffering.

From the bottom of my heart I tell you that things will get better and though you will never forget that horrible day in your life, your pain will slowly heal.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
