The Wolf Among Us is a Telltale game. Now Telltale games in general have a graphic novel look to them. This is the first game, that I have played, of theirs. So this game is about the fairy tales that we grew up with. However with hints in the game they are not the disney versions of them, but more of the Brothers Grimm versions of them. With the fact that this is a M rated game it would make sense that the originally less happy versions of them are displayed more.
It in short is a game where all the fairy tales come into our world to live. They live in a suburb of New York City, Fabletown. Now Fabletown is big enough to have the upper and lower areas of living. You play as Bigby, who is the sheriff and is the Big Bad Wolf. In which you start out with a lot of the fables, the other fairy tales, not liking you. However with how you play it might change since how you act change how they see you. The best part it even changes the outcome of the game.
Now the graphics of the game at first were off putting for me since in each game that I have played before, with some exceptions like Minecraft, the games that I have played before try to be as lifelike as they can for their time. However the more I played the game the more it fit and made it better playing experience for me. However there were times when it had lacked some gravity, or weight, in it. However in most games they all have these moments for me where they lack their reality in the games.
One of the thing that took away its’ weight was when you or another character pass through each other or an object. This happened a few different times, which might of been apart of how the graphics were done. Or it could have been because I was playing it on the Playstation 4 instead of Playstation 3 which is what it originally came out for. However it still happened for whatever reason it did. However despite when this happened it still is a good game.
Playing this game more than once is a bit of a gamble. Like it was said earlier it changes how it goes depends on what you do. So where you go first and who you go after changes the outcome and how you are seen. So instead of being seen as the Big Bad Wolf you are seen as a friend. Well as much of a friend as they can see you as with all the history that their is. Now it becomes apparent that you are making a difference when you see how they react to you when you do something.
It is a game that should be played. It has depth in it more than what one would expect along with being fun. It gives you choices that you do not want to make and some that are easy to make. It has a way of somewhat revealing who you are.
