When I see snow on the forecast, I know that means that winter is approaching. When I think of winter, I think of bundling up in lots of layers and warm clothing. These are the things that are absolutely necessary if you want to stay warm and still look somewhat put together this winter.

1. Blanket Scarf

They are all the trend this year and a great accessory to pair with a cute sweater or jacket.

2. Fleece

This one is a given. Fleeces keep you warm and they are great layering pieces.

3. Leggings

If you don’t already see these as a staple in your wardrobe something is wrong. Try getting a pair of fleece lined ones for those extra cold days.

4. Winter Hat

These have also recently become popular again and a great way to protect your hair from the wind and snow while still looking cute.

5. Snow Boots

Keep your feet warm and dry with a good pair of snow boots. Opt for a pair that are fur lined and not too short, just incase you get more than a few inches.

6. Puffer Coat

Apparently these are all the rage for 2017. Puffer coats are warm and that is key if you are going to be walking around outside this winter.

7. Big Comfy Sweater

The best part about winter is breaking out the sweaters. Big comfy ones are the best kind and great to wear with leggings if they are long enough.

8. Joggers

Joggers have recently become more trendy and acceptable in the fashion world. Wear them around the house or wear them out, either way they look cute and feel comfortable.

9. Warm Socks

You’ll need something to wear inside your boots, so go with the thick socks to keep those toes warm.

10. Slippers

When you’re hanging around the house or walking around the dorm, it’s a good idea to have some warm footwear that is easy to slip on and off. I basically live in my slippers all winter long.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
