The week before spring break always seems like the longest week ever. Anticipation to see family and friends, travel, or see your dog (because we all know that's the most important one) are high. It just seems like the week drags on and is never ending. We all try to go into the week with a positive attitude, but by the middle of the week, everything seems to have gone down hill. Here are seven thoughts that go through every college student's mind the week before spring break from start to finish, as told by Schmidt from "New Girl".
Day 1.
It's the beginning of the week and you think it will be a breeze with little stress. With your "I can do it mentality" you give yourself a pep talk because starting this week of right is key. Nothing can stop you now!
Day 2.
Day two has just begun and that pep talk is already wearing off. Your stressless week is this week no more seeing as you just realized that your three quizzes, two projects and all your homework are due by the end of the week. Can college students ever catch a break?
Day 3.
You trying your best to keep it together at this point, but nothing seems to be going right. You don't want to label this week as a complete and total failure, but from the looks of it, that's what it's about to be.
Day 4.
It may be the middle of the week and you're halfway to the end of it, but that doesn't make you feel any better. All you want is to be on your way home leaving all the stress of this week behind, but that's not an option. You still have three days to go and all your wondering is why can't it be spring break already.
Day 5.
The entire week you have been listening to professors tell you how these last few weeks of classes are crucial considering you are almost halfway through the semester. There seems to be a never ending need for professors to tell students how important studying is, how your homework is a big percent of your grade and how you need to participate in class to ensure a good grade. These are all things you have heard before and it's the last thing you need nor want to be hearing right now. Your brain is officially in vacation mode and you're completely sick of everyone telling you what to do.
Day 6.
You only have one day left so naturally after what feels like the longest week ever, it's also going to feel like the longest day ever. With all of your assignments due tomorrow and having procrastinated all week due to the high hopes that they would all just disappear, you can't help but to slap yourself in the face. That strong feeling of regret is hitting you hard as you are wishing you had just done the work and got it over with in the beginning of the week. It's going to be a long night, yet alone a long day.
Day 7.
It's finally here! The day that you get to go home has arrived and you are nothing but happy. The week may have taken forever and the amount of work you had may seemed undoable, but you made it to the end. As soon as your last class get out, you are doing the happy dance, all the way to your car. The end of the week and the start of spring break is definitely a cause for celebration!
