After years of begging, I finally got to visit the deadliest town on earth. Now if you are a fan of "The Vampire Diaries," then you know I am referring to none other than Covington, Georgia. For those of you who might not be familiar with Covington or "The Vampire Diaries," it is a town located 40 minutes outside of Atlanta where they filmed a majority of the tv show.

By visiting Covington, you get to see not only your favorite tv show come to life but also learn a little more about the area and its' other famous movie moments. Today, I will be sharing with you why it is time you pack a bag and visit good old Mystic Falls.

1. You can check out all the filming sites for yourself

If you are like me then you've dreamed of the day that you could see all the filming locations in person. Of course, there are a few different ways you can do that. When I was there, I opted to find the locations myself with the help of Google; but, they offer tours. If you are interested in a tour, check out the Walker Stalker Tours there.

2. All the merchandise you could imagine

Wow, I had never seen so much tv show merchandise before visiting Covington. In Covington, you will find several different stores sell "The Vampire Diaries" merchandise. I personally enjoyed the Alley Shop which is located under The Mystic Grill. There you will find TV shirts, jewelry, candles, and basically any other piece of merchandise you could ever want. If you want a sneak peek of what the store has to offer then check out their Facebook page.

3. Find some of the cutest stores

Now aside from "The Vampire Diaries" stores, Covington also had some of the cutest local stores. When I was there I found several clothing boutiques, a thrift store, and homeware stores. If you go for a visit, don't skip out going into these places. I promise they are worth your time.

4. Learn a bit of history

The town of Covington is also a great source of local history. When I was researching it, I learned that the area is still home to a lot of historic buildings that you can see for yourself.

5. Check out a few other famous movie stops

You'll find once you visit Covington that it is home to filming locations outside of just "The Vampire Diaries." The area is also home to filming locations from "Madea's Family Reunion," "Steel Magnolias," and "The Dukes of Hazzard."

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.

To My Loving Boyfriend,

  • Thank you for all that you do for me
  • Thank you for working through disagreements with me
  • Thank you for always supporting me
  • I appreciate you more than words can express
  • You have helped me grow and become a better person
  • I can't wait to see where life takes us next
  • I promise to cherish every moment with you
  • Thank you for being my best friend and confidante
  • I love you and everything you do

To start off, here's something I don't say nearly enough: thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You do so much for me that I can't even put into words how much I appreciate everything you do - and have done - for me over the course of our relationship so far. While every couple has their fair share of tiffs and disagreements, thank you for getting through all of them with me and making us a better couple at the other end. With any argument, we don't just throw in the towel and say we're done, but we work towards a solution that puts us in a greater place each day. Thank you for always working with me and never giving up on us.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.
