First and foremost, before you (whoever you are) starts to read this article, know that I (the author) am not here to spark controversy or point fingers. I'm simply here to share my thoughts and encourage others to discuss and do the same.
Throughout the past few months there have been various controversies over all sorts of tragedies all throughout the world. Here on our home turf, there has been constant struggle between #Blacklivesmatter and #Bluelivesmatter and even #AllLivesMatter. All of these things quickly send my head spinning around, wondering how it is even possible that the greatest country in the world has become a place where violence has become an answer. Our politicians that are running for office seem to be nowhere near qualified to be running this country and everyone is constantly arguing about what's going on in the current news.
I think that we are often too quick to realize the hypocrisy that we create when we argue about who was right or who was wrong. When people point fingers, someone is bound to get offended. Then is it assumed that if you point a finger at one person, you're pointing at everyone and everything else that is associated with that person.
Until people realize the value of collective responsibility, people will be incapable of taking responsibility. When a handful policemen don't do their job correctly, every policeman in the whole country is automatically seen as a bad guy. When a handful of African-American's are criminals, they're all seen as a threat. When two entitled white people run for president, all white people suddenly become entitled and intolerable.
I am extremely curious to see where we're headed as a country, and pray that's it's in a different direction than where it's headed now.
