For the past 2.5 years, I have had an iPhone 4s. Last week, I upgraded to an iPhone 6s. That means that I passed up all the opportunities to have an iPhone 5 when they were featured.
I have been waiting for this upgrade since May. I could have sworn that my phone knew it was going to be replaced because it stopped charging and was frozen most of the time. It probably couldn’t keep up with what I needed it to do. But then again, did i really need the upgrade?
What phone do you have? Do you appreciate how it helps you in your every day life?
I believe that a phone should be a want, not a need. You do not necessarily need a phone to live on; there are many people today that do not believe that phones or smartphones are necessary for living. In today’s generation, children as young as 6 years old can’t wait to get their hands on their own smartphone; having the access to games and movies at the touch of a button. When I was their age, I was so excited play with all the toys that Santa brought me at Christmas time. I did not receive a phone until i was in 6th grade and back then, it was a razor flip phone and I felt like the coolest kid on the block.
What happened to those days of enjoying childhood and toys? The only electronic device i remember getting for Christmas was a VCR rewinder! It would rewind the movie faster than it would in the VCR player. It was definitely one of the greatest gifts and now, we have DVD’s. The technology has drastically changed since I was a little kid in the early 2000’s, and it’s sad to watch kids grow up wanting an iPad or the newest iPhone rather than the latest star wars lego set or doll house set.
I just slightly complained about my iPhone 4s and it was an older phone. We think that a new phone will help us fit into society better or the newest apple tv or car but in reality, it is just more revenue for companies. They know people will buy their products at any price and so they will sell their products at top dollar! I feel bad for retiring my iPhone 4s, but it was a want in my life and i made it happen.
