Unforced Rhythms Of Grace.
I am sitting here in my bed with five Word documents open consisting of five completely different, half-finished articles. I have to be honest, I’ve been struggling for the past hour. I was just sitting here, eyes closed, listening to Hillsong, waiting for The Lord to tell me what to write about, when my spirit shook and all I felt was grace.
I love talking about the beauty of grace.
Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly. (Matt. 11:28-30 MSG)
Personally, I prefer NIV over The Message, but I love this translation.
There is just something so beautiful about the phrase “unforced rhythms of grace.”
Google defines rhythm as a 'strong, regular, repeated pattern of movement or sound.'
Google defines grace as the 'free and unmerited favor of God, as manifested in the salvation of sinners and the bestowal of blessings.'
The unforced, repeated pattern of the unmerited favor of God.
Yes, I know that is a mouthful, but please read it carefully.
The unforced, repeated pattern of the unmerited favor of God.
Grace is something that we get to fall back in.
It is a safe place to rest.
God grants us this beautiful gift every single day.
He grants us grace over and over again, time after time, and sin after sin.
Grace upon grace.
Grace tells us that we are more than what we’ve done.
We are more than what has been done to us.
We are more than what we feel.
By His grace, we have been washed white.
You are never too far gone to fall back into the arms of grace.
Grace is unmerited, you don’t have to do anything to earn it, it’s waiting for you, He is waiting for you.
All you have to do is receive it.
All you have to do is want it.
All you have to do is ask for it.
If you are not sure what your calling is yet, at least know this, you are called to grace. You are called to grace, because you are all that He says you are, He has called you beloved, and He has called you worthy.
