Since getting home from school a month and a half ago, I found myself reading more than ever before, since my friends seemed to all be busy with their jobs. During this time, I found so many books that made reading fun and easy again, and it was something I wanted to do rather than being forced to do. These are 10 of the best books I have read so far this summer.
1. "The Girl On The Train" by Paula Hawkins
This book is full of twists and keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time. With a movie coming out in October, now is the perfect time to read this book. It will have you guessing and keep you wondering if Jess made the right choices.
2. "This is Where It Ends" by Marieke Nijkamp
A book that takes place over a period of 54 minutes can change the way you look at a lot of things, especially school shootings.
This novel follows four different characters and how they survive a day at
school that they were never expecting to happen to them.
3. "Every Last Word" by Tamara Ireland Stone
Samantha McAllister has OCD and is afraid that if her friends find out she will no longer fit in with the “popular” crowd. Her friends would never understand if she tried to explain. However, when Sam meets Caroline things quickly turn around for her. Caroline introduces her to the Poet’s Corner and that’s when things in her life really seem to change.
4. "The Way I Used To Be" by Amber Smith
People always say bad things happen to good people and for Eden that is just the case. Her world changes when her brothers best friend rapes her. This story is told in four parts, freshman, sophomore, junior and senior year. Eden has to learn how to be who she really is in spite of everything that has happened to her.
5. "The Last Good Day of The Year" by Jessica Warman
Ten years ago, Samantha watched someone break into her home and take her younger sister. Sam’s distraught family is now moving back into the home where this happened and when she comes face to face with her old neighbor who was there the night of the kidnapping and she starts to wonder just how much of the story she actually remembers.
6. "Asking For It" by Louise O’Neill
All eyes are on Emma O’Donovan as she enters the party. Unfortunately her luck quickly changes when she wakes up the next morning on the porch of her house with no memory of what happened the night before, but everyone else knows exactly what happened. Detailed pictures soon start to circulate and everyone wants to believe what is in front of them, especially when the truth of the story involves the town’s two most involved young men.
7. "Even In Paradise" by Chelsey Philpot

The unlikely duo quickly become inseparable and Charlotte is thrown into a world of extravagant parties, vacation homes, and more champagne than she knows how to handle. However, Charlotte soon learns that Julia’s seemingly perfect life is not all its cracked up to be and the Buchanan family has kept a tragedy a secret until Charlotte came along.
8. "Leaving Time" by Jodi Picoult
Obsessed with the disappearance of her mother, Jenna has spent the last decade trying to locate her. With the help of a psychic gone bad and a jaded PI who was one of the original officers on the case she hopes to find everything she is looking for, even if the answers are not what she was hoping for.
9. "The Sister Pact" by Stacie Ramey
