The Ultimate Showdown Of Coffee Comparisons

Starbucks, Dunkin' Donuts, Espresso Royale, home coffee.. there are so many options. I am a coffee lover and thought I would fill you in on what these coffee shops do well and what they lack.. I'll assess things such as caffeine content, options available, price, and accessibility.

Starbucks: Ah Starbucks everyone's favorite overpriced coffee shop. Here's some pros and cons for you.

Pros:

  • Multitude of drink options such as mochas, cappuccinos, frappuccinos, espresso, and so much more!
  • You can get coffee with a ton of caffeine or just a little
  • They are on every corner so easily accessible!
  • Chance to get free rewards (at participating locations)
Cons:
  • Slight issue with accessibility is the long lines(there is an option of ordering your coffee ahead of time but depending on location they may not offer this)
  • One of the most expensive coffee shops ($6 coffee is ridiculous)

Ultimately if you are not afraid of the prices and occasional long lines, Starbucks has good drink options to satisfy your sweet tooth and/or caffeine cravings.

Dunkin' Donuts: If you are looking for good coffee and good food at an affordable price you've come to the right place!

Pros:

  • 99 cent coffee after 3!
  • Affordable (even before 3)
  • Many different types of coffee and flavor options
  • Great donuts and bakery items
  • Stronger caffeine buzz than most other coffee shops (at least in my experience)
Cons:
  • Slightly harder to access than Starbucks (but still around)
  • Coffee is sometimes pretty bitter (never fear that's what creamer and sugar is for!)

Don't hesitate to take a chance on their coffee, it usually is a great option!

Espresso Royale: Another option on most college campuses which has great coffee!

Pros:

  • Many options from mochas, to normal coffee, to speciality drinks
  • Coffee is great with good amount of caffeine
  • Offer drink deals and hand out coupons!
  • Easily accessible for college students
  • Don't normally have as long of lines as Starbucks
Cons:
  • Coffee is more bitter than Starbucks or Dunkin' (flavoring and sugar are your best friends!)
  • Pretty expensive if you don't have a coupon
Espresso Royale is a good option if you have the money to spend(or a coupon) and live on a college campus!

Home Coffee: No one can forget the good ole-fashioned home coffee option!

Pros:

  • Cheapest option
  • The right brand (I like Starbucks, Dunkin', and McDonald's brand) is good and highly caffeinated
  • You can enjoy it from the comfort of your own home (shoutout to all my fellow morning monsters!)
  • Many different creamers and other flavor options
  • No lines!
Cons:
  • More time-consuming to make(but there are no lines..)
  • Harder to get specialized coffee drinks (cappuccinos, frappuccinos, etc)

Home coffee is a great everyday option. If you are like me and need caffeine to survive the morning having coffee at home is essential for you and the rest of your community's survival.

Conclusion:

It is really exciting as a coffee lover to have so many great options! I hope you can use these comparisons to find your favorite coffee option! Don't be afraid to mix and match either because there are many benefits of each option! Happy coffee drinking!! Be sure to share your thoughts on your favorite coffee places!

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

Barn Pros

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.
