The 11 Best Food Spots In Waterbury, CT

As a longtime resident of the Brass City, there are plenty of things to complain about — the traffic, the mall, how there's never anything fun to do. But, there is one thing I can't complain about and that's how great of a selection of food we have in the 203. There's something to meet the needs of everyone's taste buds. After careful consideration and input from other fellow Waterburians (I just made that up), I compiled a list of the best places to eat in Waterbury, CT. This list combines the tried and true staple food places that we have all grown up loving, as well as some new places that are gaining some buzz! Happy Eating!

1. Nardelli's

The absolute best place to get a grinder in Waterbury hands down! The bread is always fresh and they have every ingredient you can think of to really personalize your sandwich. You get way more for your money than if you were to go to Subway.

2. Avventura's

Your one stop shop for baked goods, salads, wraps, sandwiches. Also, they have the BEST chicken parmesan — just ask Molly Murphy, she'll tell you.

3. Tower Grill

The cutest little diner in Waterbury with the best breakfast food. Seriously, everything on the menu is good. Just make sure you bring cash as they don't accept cards, which just adds to the charm of this place!

4. Domenick & Pia's

New York is definitely not the only place to find great pizza. Surprisingly, Waterbury has an awesome pizza selection but in my opinion, this place knocks all other pizza places out of the water.

5. Frankie's

You know its summertime when the Frankie's on Watertown Ave is finally open again for the season. Frankie's is known for their hot dogs of course, and is just an absolute staple of Waterbury food.

6. Singo Sushi

Not a fan of sushi but this place is a favorite for a lot of my friends, and those whom I consulted with during the process of making this list. The people wanted sushi, so I gave them sushi.

7. Ami's Bagels

There is no better way to start your morning than with a fresh, hot bagel from Ami's. Enjoy it with cream cheese or make it into a sandwich and it will put you in a good mood for the rest of the day.

8. San Marino's

The perfect fine dining restaurant for any special occasion. San Marino's is another staple in Waterbury with the most delicious Italian food.

9. Brooklyn Baking Company

Best. Donuts. Ever. The end.

10. Pan Del Cielo Bakery

This Puerto Rican bakery is the best in Waterbury. Fresh bread is one of my favorite things in life and this place knows how to do it right. They also make great sandwiches and Spanish desserts.

11. Los Garcias Mexican Fusion Truck

This food truck is located right behind the Brass Mill Mall. I know what you're thinking, but the quesadillas from this place are to die for. If you're looking for cheap, authentic Mexican food then look no further. There's even a small, inside seating area where you can sit and enjoy your meal.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

singing
Cambio

If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
