Your break just went from 0 to 100, real quick.

Christmas is already around the corner and finals are finally over. What to do next? Lay around and watch Netflix for 16 hours straight? There is no reason you couldn't, but let's make this winter break a little more exciting and memorable than just laying around all day with Grey's Anatomy in front of you.

Here is the ultimate winter break bucket list for you to take on:

1. Go Ice Skating

Look up ice rinks near you and check on public skate times! Super cheap and super fun! (Maybe even a time for you non-Minnesotans out there to learn how to skate!)

2. Host a Game Night

Get all of your friends together for a fun night of games, like Card Against Humanity, just to catch up! It is a fun way to chill, yet have so much fun with each other. Even a night of drinking games would be incredibly fun!

3. Shop 'Til You Drop for a day

This is for the girls out there that just need a little retail therapy. Shopping is always a stress reliever -- Not a cheap one, but definitely an easy fix to your stress. You can go to great lengths visiting the Mall of America, or even search for some outlet malls nearest you!

4. Throw/Attend an Ugly Christmas Sweater Party

Everyone is off of school and home for Christmas. Whether it is before Christmas or the weekend after, an ugly Christmas sweater party is something all of your friends will love to take part in. Time to start looking at Ragstock and Goodwill for the ugliest sweater out there!

5. Take a Road Trip

You've got the time, so spend it wisely! Take a road trip, whenever and wherever your heart desires. Gather up some close friends, pack up the car, and hit the road!

6. Go Skiing/Snowboarding

The only place with snow on the ground right now will be the ski resorts. Take a day to enjoy winter's greatest essential while it lasts.

7. Decorate Christmas Cookies

What is Christmas time without making Christmas cookies? Fire up the oven and start baking!

8. Spend the Day With the Family

You don't get the chance to see your family too much, so make sure to give them the time in your schedule over break.

9. Have a Christmas Movie Marathon

Elf, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, and the Santa Claus are Classics. Take a night off just to kick back with some hot chocolate, fuzzy pajamas, and get more in the Christmas spirit!

10. Read a book

I know this may not seem exciting, but I personally never take the time to read a good book. Take the time out of your day to sit back and relax with a good book in hand.

11. Attend a Sporting Event

College or Professional, It is better than watching your TV at college. Basketball, Football, Hockey -- Perfect time to catch up with your favorite sports team!

12. See a Play

I love going to see "A Christmas Carol" at some point every year during Christmas time. This is the time of year that a seasonal play is always happening, whether in your local town or in the cities.

13. Volunteer to give back

Ring bells for the Salvation Army, write a letter to a soldier overseas or even make meals at Feed My Starving Children. Christmas is about being blessed with what you have, so giving to others shows your true Christmas spirit.

14. Pay It Forward

I have always wanted to do this and I finally am committing to doing so. It makes you feel good and makes someone else's day so much better.

15. Start Your New Year's Resolution Early

We all know we are going to make the effort to get back to the gym. Start now and focus on making yourself healthier and stronger.

16. Build a Fire

Bonfires are usually happening in the Fall, but the fall weather just can't seem to stay away. Throw one last bonfire get-together with some friends and enjoy this warm winter weather.

17. Do a DIY project & Crafts

I am a pretty artsy person, so crafting is always my go-to during Christmas Break. Pinterest can help with any craft ideas you are looking to create!

18. Take a Night on the Town

Dress up, get fancy, and take on a night in the cities!

19. Search Attractions Near You

Visit a Museum, Check out Historic Downtown in the city nearest you, etc. Explore!

20. Check out the Christmas Lights

I love this time of year mainly for the decorations. Lights are everywhere and it is a beautiful time to take a stroll to check out the beauty people have created in their homes and in the cities.

21. Spend all day in bed

Okay, I said this should not be on your list, but take a day off for yourself and enjoy the fact that you have nothing to study for and no responsibilities. You won't have this luxury for long.

Instead of wasting your break away with your significant other (aka Netflix), make your time at home something to remember!

10 Signs You Work In A Restaurant

There's always chaos in the restaurant business.

10 Signs You Work In A Restaurant
Brisanis

Working in the restaurant industry is possibly the most fundamentally challenging occupation I have ever experienced when it comes to hospitality and customer service. When you go to a five-star restaurant you expect the time of your life, a two hour getaway, a walk through another time period (rustic Italy, France, Spain, etc), or simply a honeymoon undergo. What you don't see are the behind the scenes scut work: carrying trays, polishing glassware and silverware, kitchen chaos, the list is endless. Now, I'm not saying being a host, server, or bartender is the worst thing in the whole wide world, there are definitely worse things. But the fact of the matter is that it isn't always sunshine and rainbows. In the two years that I have spent in restaurant and customer service, I have spoken my share of expletives, yelled at kitchen staff, and dealt with not-so-happy guests. It isn't easy to keep a bright and shiny smile on your face when all you want to do is choke every person who walks near you. Anyone who has spent even two weeks working in a restaurant understands the rigor and stress that comes with it. Restaurant culture is a tiny world in and of itself that operates on its own principles and creates its own society. It even has its own language. The sayings "runner", "corner", and "on a bus" wouldn't make sense to anyone otherwise. My mother and I both work in a restaurant and the best advice I can give someone going out to eat is to treat us like people. Yes...believe it or not we are people, people. Say "please" and "thank you", or stack your cleared plates before a busser gets to the table. Trust me, the gesture goes a lot farther than you may think.

So, if you work in a restaurant, you can relate with the following points. If not, check out how the brain of a restaurant service (or any customer service) worker actually works. See if you can identify any crazy weird habits your friends have a tendency to partake in.

One of the scariest things we will ever face in our life is going to college. Many of us move away to a new town, join new organizations, and make new friends. We are expected to study, have a social life, relationships, maybe work, and be healthy. It seems pretty easy to do, and in high school all we wanted to do was graduate and move on to this next chapter of our lives. If you are in high school, here are some things that you can learn from before you get to college. If you have already been through your freshman year of college, hopefully you can relate to the things I have learned in college.
