The Types Of Guys You Meet In College

During a four-year span, there are a lot of people you can meet. This is no exception in college. Starting over and having to learn who everyone is not an easy task, however, the different guys that girls encounter are a completely different breed from those ever seen before. Learning who makes a good friend, boyfriend, hookup or even who to avoid can be a daunting task, but with some time, everyone hopefully gets the hang of it.

The Frat Star

The guy who genuinely thinks he can live his college years according to Animal House. He guy goes out on weekends AND most weeknights, and will never be caught without his letters. The only thing he knows how to talk about is the latest party his "frat" is throwing this weekend, and trying to convince everyone who will give him the time of day to show up.

The One You Friend-Zone

He's just more of a friend than anything. You could see him being your brother in an alternate universe, and the idea of dating just weirds you out. It does work out because Mayors of the Zone often times give the best advice on who would be the best guy because they still want you to be happy.

The F*ckboy

He's the one to avoid. You never fully know how many girls he's talking to at once, and despite promises that you are "the only girl," you hear at least three other stories of girls talking to him. He's flaky and only interested in you for things that aren't intellect based.

The Jock

The first words out of this guys mouth after their names are always "Oh I play _____." They usually have early morning practices, and crazy schedules so they can often be found in the dining halls together around the same time.

Mr. Perfect

He's the one who is just too good to be true, almost so much that he is avoided at all costs. There is no one human can be that perfect without flaws, or a past, it just is not possible.

The One Time Deal

You'll see him once, but after that, NEVER again. Except for those awkward times while you walk to class and see him with all his friends. No Ragrets, right?

The Nice One Who Turns Out to Not Be Nice

At first, this guy seems super nice, holding doors for you, talking about how Love is an Open Door, and offering to help you study for the classes he is good at, and you're not. But over time, he turns out not to be that sweet charming guy you thought he was. He just kind of turns out to be a jerk in disguise.

The Petty Pretty Boy

He's he may be easy on the eyes, but once you get to know him, his personality will drive you crazy. He's rather petty, and only really cares about his looks or his parents money or how much he spent on his newest pair of shoes.

The One Who Will Not Commit

He's the guy you want to date more than anything but is not interested in a relationship at the time. Despite best efforts, there is nothing to be done about his commitment issues. After you two establish that what you have "is not a relationship", he begins to fade out of your life slowly, then all at once. Then the only times you see him is with the next girl, but he's not going to commit to her and not you, you think.

The Sensitive One

The guy who is very in touch with his emotions and everyone knows it. It is not a bad thing, but you sometimes feel as if he is a little much.

The Lobby Creeper

He's the one who is always in your residence hall lobby. It does not matter what time of the day it is, the Lobby Creeper will be there. He waits until night to strike and talks to the girls who come back crying because they've had a little too much to drink and are emotionally distraught about some "jerk" they thought they were seeing.

The One Who is Stuck in High School

This guy keeps reminding everyone he was hot shit in high school. We get it, now shut up.

The Dad

He's the one who cleans up everyone's messes. He makes sure you don't go home with some guy you would regret, and is always on call for when you need him to come get you.

The One Who Came to College With a Girlfriend

Whether he came with a girlfriend to college or left her back home and is trying long distance, he is one not to mess with. The only think you'll ever be with him is a friend, but that is not the worst thing in the world.

The Nerd

He's the one who you keep around because he knows virtually everything. No matter what subject you're struggling in, he has you covered.

The Drunk Call

He's the one who you ALWAYS seem too drunk call no matter what the situation with you two is. Even when you have his number blocked, you still find a way to call him and mumble some type of nonsense. He only answers half the time, but half the time is probably better.

The One Who Always Wants to "Netflix and Chill"

That one guy who will never leave you alone with his incessant texts of "Hey wanna Netflix and chill?" You just want him to get the hint and leave you alone already.

THE One????

You just haven't met this one yet. You don't know who, what, where, when, why or how, but if the fairytale romcoms are right, you'll meet him sooner rather than later. Or not, who really knows.

The Best-est Person You'll Ever Meet

He's your best friend. He's the best mix of "The Guy You Friend-Zoned" and "The Dad." He's the one who is there to pick up all the pieces when boys get too mean, or when you want to go get cookies at 11 o'clock on a Sunday night. He's the one who you can text at any hour and know he will text you back, or just show up in your room and join in on whatever conversation you are having. He will come get you from any bad situation and has saved your sorry ass many times. He is one of the best people in your life, and you wouldn't want it any other way.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
