Don't go with the wrong crowd.

There Are 2 Types Of People At Cortland
SUNY Cortland

Even though I've only been at Cortland for two years now, going on three, I've noticed that there is clear division between the people I see every day. You either choose to live life one way or the other, there is no in between. Which category do you belong to?

1. Dunkin vs. Bookmark vs. Coffee Mania

Coffee mania is for those fortunate enough to get there, if you find a ride it's like winning the lotto. Dunkin is the way to go, and "I love bookmarks coffee" should not come out of your mouth.

2. Top of dark horse vs. Bottom of dark horse

The top is for the lucky freshman who finally get in and want to have the time of their life, the bottom is for TSHIRTTTT TIMEEEE

3. Students with dragon dollars vs. Students without

If you have dragon dollars, I question your life.

4. Bistro vs. Neubig

Either way your not getting a good meal, so flipping a coin is your best bet. Or you could just order in.

5. Gym rats vs. Netflix addicts

You either go to the gym everyday or finish an entire season of a show, you rarely find people that have time for both.

6. Top of the hill vs. Bottom of the hill

Degroat(shoutout to freshman year, love you people) and Cheney vs every other human on campus. That 20 minute walk to class everyday definitely makes you miss living at the top.

7. Subway vs. Raquette

Either one satisfies, as long as it's not the dining halls.

8. Bus takers vs. walkers

It's 70 degrees out and sunny, why are you getting on the bus? It's 20 degrees and snowing, why are you walking to class?

9. Elevators vs. Stairs

If you live on floors 3 and below, you better be taking the stairs, unless you have something in your hands, I guess it's okay.

10. Dagers vs. Ragers

Day drink? or go out at night? OR try to accomplish both, which most of the time does not end well.

11. Long Island vs. "Where is that?"

Nassau, Suffolk or upstate, is really all you need to know.

12. Hibernators vs. Insomniacs

Oh you got 12 hours of sleep last night? well lucky you, I got around 4 and had an 8am.

13. Nappers vs. Studiers

Should I study or.....take a nap? No second guessing needed.

14. Pizza & more vs. Marks

Who has $6 for a slice of pizza now a days?

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
