To The Twin I Never Knew I Needed

To the twin I never knew I needed,

From the moment I got my bid, I knew the only thing that would top that was getting my Big. Everyone dreams of what their Big will be like. Will she be the girl you fell in love with during recruitment or the one who embraced you with arms wide open on bid day?

Everyone dreams of what their Big will be like, but no one really dreams of what their Twin will be like. And that’s probably for the best, because you would have succeeded expectations.

Thank you for listening to me even though I probably drive you crazy. When I’m so scatterbrained, when I’m stressed, when I just need to vent, I know I can call you, beep you, if I want to reach you, no matter what.

Thank you for believing in me. Your encouragement and sincerity never go unnoticed. You are my number one fan, as I am yours.

Thank you for never letting me feel bad about myself. We all have days where we feel ugly, or not in the best shape, or just like one big hot mess. But you never make me feel that way and I know you never will. I can only hope to boost your confidence as much as you do mine.

Thank you for always being honest with me. People don’t always see eye to eye, and that’s a normal thing; what’s not always normal is not taking it personally, and I’m so thankful we don’t. If we have something to say, we say it. Not many people are able to do that, but we can because we love each other, and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

Thank you for always having fun with me. Whether it’s a last minute plan to go out or going all out for Taco Tuesday, it’s guaranteed to be a good time. And when Big’s with us too? Forget it. Nothing quite beats a night with the fam.

Thank you for treating my Little like your own. If I know one thing, you’re definitely the cool aunt. She’s so lucky to have a friend like you in her life.

Thank you for being the shoulder I’m going to cry on when Big graduates and it’s just us. It’ll be weird not having her around, and there’s no one who will quite understand like you. But we know we’ll make her proud, because we’re her Littles and we won’t settle for anything else.

Thank you for being my Twin. Not many people get the love from another family member like we do. Not many people get an unexpected friend they know they can always count on. Thank you for being everything a Twin should be, plus so much more. It’s weird to think there was a time when we weren’t in each other’s lives, but I’m so happy those days are far behind us.

Here’s to you and me, a forever friendship. I never imagined what it would be like having a Twin, and now I can’t imagine a life without you in it.

10 Truths About Being In A Sorority

(For Girls Who Are Interested In Greek Life)

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
