12 Types Of Friends In Every Friend Group

Take a minute to think about your squad. I bet that each and every one of you are very different, but get along so well. It is an interesting phenomenon that all friend groups seem to follow the same pattern. There is a world of differences that ties so many diverse souls to each other. After all, every friend group is distinctive, yet the same in this aspect.

1.The Mom

The mom of the group is very easy to identify. She is usually the designated driver that takes care of everyone while drinking. It is not uncommon for her to rally up the drunken troops at 2AM to make sure everyone gets home safely. She is probably more concerned for your safety than you are. She WILL tell you when you are making a mistake. The mom of the group can be a bit of a drag sometimes. She can be extremely judgmental. She will get on your case for hooking up with your friend's ex-boyfriend. She will even give you a hard time for settling for anything less than you deserve. You know that her mothering instincts only come out because she loves you.

2.The Diva

Designer clothes, handbags, and makeup are the main topics of conversations for the diva. She has to look her best, always. Even if you guys are just going to the gym. She always knows the latest fashion trends because she has been passionate about it almost her entire life. It originally just started as playing dress up as a little girl, but it opened up a new world for her. The diva is the first person that everyone goes to for advice about makeup and clothes. Since she loves fashion and her friends, she is more than happy to help them find the perfect outfit.

3.The Introvert

The introvert is always a girl of few words, at least in the beginning. It can take a while for her to warm up to everyone, but believe me, she will talkyour ear off when she getscomfortable withyou. The introvert loves it when you open up to her. Since she is not much of a talker at first, she makes a great listener. She opens up to her friends after she feels that you guys have developed a strong bond. She truly feels like a member of the squad because everyone took the time to show her that they care.

4.The Blunt One

I have two words for you: brutal honesty. If you want an honest opinion about something, you can always count on this girl. She can be alittle harsh sometimes, but it is only going to help you in the long run. I won't lie to you though, you guys will sometimes be at odds. Especially when she gives her opinion when you don't ask for it. You need to hear it most of the time though. She is wise beyond her years and knows what is best for you. Youcanalso do a genuine happydance when shecompliments you because you know that shewill not lie to spare your feelings.

5.The Loud One

Going in public with the loud one can be a bit dangerous because she WILL draw attention to you guys. People will be staring. Herlaugh is perhaps more loud than you screaming at the top of your lungs, but you love her for it. You also do not have to worry about awkward silences with this girl around, for which we all are eternally grateful.

6.The Weird One

By all means, this is not a bad weird at all. The weird one is the Phoebe Buffay of the group. The two best words to describe her are unique and quirky. Sheis alittleout there, but deep down, you envy her for her distinct outlook on life. She believes in something whole-heartedly, whether it be religion, vegetarianism, or that the earth is flat. It may not always make sense, but her child-like optimism is one of her best characteristics. Admit it, life would also a lot more boring without her around.

7.The Leader

Every squad needs a leader because she offers more than just leadership. She is like the glue that holds the group together. The leader knows everyone in the group very well, and picks activities and conversations that will lead to bonding. She is also the host that throws all of the coolest parties. You will never have a bad time at one of her parties because she picks something that everyone will enjoy doing.

8.The Extrovert

You can easily identify the extrovert of your group at a party. She sometimes can be spotted dancing on tables, or surrounded by strangers because she is not afraid to talk to new people. For that reason, she does not have trouble making new friends. Sheis super outgoing and pushesher friends to step outside their comfort zones.

9.The Sweetheart

The sweetheart is perhaps everyone’s favorite in the group. She is sweet, cute, bubbly, and supportive. It is super easy for her to get along with everyone. Her smile and laughter are so contagious that it is impossible to be upset with this girl around. Whenher friends are feeling down, she is the person that everyone comes to for a pick me up.

10.The Brainiac

Not much can be said about the Brainiac, other than she is the brains of the operation. She has a super successful career and has her shit together. A bit of a know-it-all sometimes, but you know you would call for help answering a trivia question. You also know that she would help you out with anything you need. Whether it be editing papers, filling out an application, or homework help, she would be there.

11.Technology Obsessed One

You are convinced that thisgirl is going to lose athumb texting one day. The amount of time that she spends on her phone and computer are unimaginable. She is always on Facebook, even when she is hanging out with you. It is annoying, but she would be the first one to call or text you when you need it.

12.The Chill One

I left this one for last because the chill one would have no problem with that. She is nice to everyone and gets along with all of them. She does not even have to fake it because she is just that cool. The chill one is literally down for anything. She has no problem being your plus one to a wedding if you cannot find a date. She is also the first one to volunteer to drive you to Wendy's at 2AM when you feel like your world is falling apart. We all love this girl for it.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
