I’m dreaming of a white Christmas but first FINALS! Every college student can agree that the last week of the semester is the most stressful and mental breakdown worthy days of the year. All you want is to sip hot cocoa and watch "Elf" for the thousandth time, but your professors have another plan for you. A plan that you often think was fabricated by the Grinch himself. Here are the twelve days of finals as told by a college student. I am sure you can relate.

One the first day of finals my professor gave to me a motivational speech on how to succeed.

On the second day of finals my professor gave to me a two hour review class that started one hour late.

On the third day of finals my professor gave to me three research papers in the format of MLA.

On the fourth day of finals my professor gave to me four extra points on a test I failed anyway.

On the fifth day of finals my professor gave to me five mental breakdowns.

On the sixth day of finals my professor gave to me six thoughts of switching majors.

On the seventh day of finals my professor gave to me seven sleepless nights.

On the eighth day of finals my professor gave to me eight cups of coffee.

On the ninth day of finals my professor gave to me nine crying fits.

On the tenth day of finals my professor gave to me ten pounds of stress weight.

On the eleventh day of finals my professor gave to me eleven course elevation requests.

On the twelve day of finals my professor gave to me twelve years of grade school that I miss oh so dearly. Remember when you wanted to graduate from elementary school? When you thought making it out of middle school was a great thing? When you threw your cap in the air and ran from your high school without looking back? Do you miss it now? I know I do. The week leading up to Christmas used to consist of bagel parties, board games, candy canes and movies in class, but now you’re just praying for a Christmas miracle.

May Christmas be Merry and your GPA be high. Let’s welcome a Happy New Year and an even happier (and stressful) new semester! Happy holidays from your friends at Mount Saint Mary College!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
