Look girl, it’s not going to be easy. That’s the truth. I’m still getting over a heartbreak myself and it’s still a little strange to find myself writing this article. And we all know that the hurt is going to last longer than we’d like it to. You think you’re never going to get over him and he was “the one”. But is he really the one if he put himself in the position to lose you?
No one will ever compare to him. No one can make your coffee the way he can. No one will know the right way to rub your feet. No one knows what song to play when you’re happy and what song to play when you’re sad. But guess what? You’re wrong. Someone will learn all those things about you. This time, though, that someone is going to treat you right. Someone will look at you one day and they’ll never look away again.
Every feud in my last relationship always ended up with: I just don’t want to be in a relationship right now. And so if that’s what your man is telling you ladies, accept it. If he isn’t trying to be a part of your future, then don’t let him. Quit making excuses for the guy. Believe him when he says he doesn’t want a relationship with you. You owe it to yourself to go out and find the man that is ready to take care of you. Quit wasting time waiting on the guy who is never going to be ready.
Remember this: you are the bright, exuberant sun. He isn’t worthy of your bright beauty and dazzling personality. He doesn’t deserve to know you like that. He doesn’t deserve a millionth chance because he should’ve known you were it the first time. Sometimes people can’t handle all your greatness. That’s why you let them go and remind yourself that you deserve better – that you are better.
The truth about the guy who keeps breaking your heart is this: he’s a loser. It’s seems like such a simple way to put it, but that’s just it. He’s too simple for you. He just isn’t ready for everything you have to offer and that’s okay. Someone out there is. Someone is waiting to love you. God gave you this boy as a lesson. You deserve a man who gives you the world and the planets that surround it. You deserve a man who shows you off to his family and poses with you on Snapchat using the dog filter. You’re so deserving of love and happiness. Know it. Remember it.
You can say anything to try and get him back. You can confess your love for him. You can try to open up about yourself to him and, just maybe, if he understood who you are a little more, he’ll take you back. I’m here to tell you don’t be that girl. Don’t be the girl who keeps lighting the match that’s already gone out. Don’t be the girl who begs for him back. Don’t be the girl who keeps getting her heart broken by the same guy over and over.
You know who you can be? You can be the girl that moves on. You can be the girl who finds a man who can treat her better. Or, in fact, you can stay single. You can love yourself a little more and figure out what your priorities are. Decide who you want to be and what kind of man fits into that. Love yourself and never stop. Stop trying so hard for the guy who kept you around for a booty call. Start trying hard for yourself.
