We are living in a time of reboots!
This is both a good and a bad thing. It's good because stories are being brought back for new generations to see and experience in a whole new way.
It's a bad thing because the people who watched the original show have a REALLY hard time in accepting the fact that not every reboot is for them.
WhAaAT?!?
I know, it's crazy, right? Not everything is made for you. Boo-hoo.
We see it every day on the internet and it's somehow becoming more and more prevalent.
In most cases, things that are rebooted for popular consumption are children's shows that are brought back for a new generation of children. Which is sweet! However, there are a lot of adults that are getting upset about this.
From criticizing the appearance of redesigned characters to the creators themselves, it's like these people can't help but get all bent out of shape when things change.
And the logic behind this is easy enough to understand:
People don't like when things change and people don't like when you challenge the way they remember things.
If you remember the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" looking and acting a certain way from your childhood, you might get a little frustrated to see that they changed so many things.
Why would they change that? What was wrong with the way it was? I personally liked the way it was, and I think other people did, too.
Well, there was probably nothing wrong with the way that it was for when you were younger, but there's a new audience today and they appeal to different things than you did.
The issue, for the most part, has nothing to do with the source material itself, but what will entertain this new generation.
So when you see that something is getting rebooted but it "NoT tHe WaY iT UsEd To Be," don't get too upset. Just understand that this new series isn't for you. It's for a whole new generation that gets to enjoy something that you already love.
