Since the invention of the wheel, the roles of gender have been classified by society. Women were always perceived as soft and delicate. While men always were viewed as strong and rough. Why is this relevant? Well, we've moved passed the wheel and invented the vehicle. So why haven't we bypassed these so-called "designated duties" of the sexes? Women should be allowed to be rough and eccentric, just as men should be allowed to be rosy and feminine. None of these adjectives should characterize a person for who they are as a whole, or even puncture their state of being.
The truth is that it hurts. For many, it haunts them in the back of their minds. No one should feel the need to present themselves in a certain way in order to appease the world; in fact, it should be vice versa. A woman can dress in suits, just as men can put on dresses. Who made the rules for women and men to live their lives a certain way? When we do this, we allow ourselves to be belittled and places into a category. We allow ourselves to be clicked and checked online, and now, even in reality. Now the real question is, what are we going to do about it? Are we going to join forces against society, or sit back and be controlled?
