The Top Places You Must Go To Eat In Fairfield

There are so many amazing things about Fairfield whether it be the beach or the proximity to New York City that draws the eye. There is also an incredible downtown area to enjoy. In the fall, the streets are covered in the remnants of gorgeous orange and brown leaves. Just wait until the Christmas season when every store window and tree is decorated in christmas lights; you can't help but adore the streets of Fairfield. Downtown allows us college kids to get a break from campus and enjoy any food that does not come from a cafeteria. With Parents Weekend just behind us I am sure many of you, including myself, enjoyed some of Fairfield's finest restaurants, (for free thanks to mom and dad). And if not, here are some must go-to's for the future:

1. Cafe Madeline

A cozy and quaint cafe with food to die for. It is one of those cute little restaurants that every time you walk by you say to your friends, "we have to go here it looks adorable." Well friends, go, like yesterday. The portions are great, the dessert is mouth watering (especially for chocolate lovers), and the owner and staff are incredibly kind, hard-working and efficient.

2. Old Post Tavern

If your in the mood for some Italian cuisine, this is the place for you. While a bit more formal, Old Post Tavern is great no matter the occasion. Just remember when the Fairfield families are in town book your reservation early because this place gets packed.

3. Colony Grill

Pizza, pizza, pizza please. Colony Grill is perfect for that post work day/work week pizza craving (come on admit it we all have them). Colony Grill makes the pizza you want all day everyday with its variety or flavors and thin crust it will leave you wanting more.

4. Pronto

Calling all the salad and sandwich lovers, this is the perfect place for you. With its casual look Pronto's is great for on-the-go quality food. You can even customize your order...does it get an sweeter?

5. B Good

A new addition to Fairfield, B Good is a great place to enjoy on-the-go, real food. They make the burger and fries so you don't feel sick from eating it a couple hours later. It's an all around awesome atmosphere with healthy, delicious food. Oh and try a smoothie or milkshake, I dare you.

6. Las Vetas Lounge

This coffee shop resembles every kind of TV show hangout place you dreamed of having right around your corner. It is great for catching up on work, doing some light reading, or having a nice afternoon cup of tea with an old friend. It is really trendy and artsy with tasty treats and comfort food like old fashioned soup and grilled cheese. Las Vetas is truly one of the best.

7. 16 handles

You do not have to feel guilty because its frozen yogurt, right? Go ahead add the whip cream and hot fudge on your non-fat strawberry yogurt. 16 Handles is a great self-serve froyo place perfect for anyone that needs a good pick me up.

8. Chips Restaurant

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Chips has all good prices, (eh hem Stag bucks $$$), great service, great food. Totally worth the uber ride.

The list of places to eat in downtown Fairfield are endless and these are just a few of the great ones to try. But seriously spend your money or someone else's dining at every one of these sometime really soon, you won't regret it.

Also hey no one is judging you if you decide to visit every single place in one day, we applaud you.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
