The Top 5 Places To Eat In Walt Disney World

Take it from the girl who goes every year

The Top 5 Places To Eat In Walt Disney World

Who doesn’t love Disney World, and who doesn’t love food? Disney World isn’t just a popular vacation spot, it’s also home to some of the most delicious dining destinations. I am a daughter of two Disney fanatics, so I can honestly say that I can navigate my way through my second home (being Disney World of course) with my eyes closed. So to those of you planning your next Disney vacation, take these suggestions from a girl who always gets her meal plan and uses all her “sit down” points every time.

1. Be Our Guest

Be Our Guest is one of the newest restaurants in the New Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom. As you can probably guess, this restaurant has something to do with Beauty and the Beast. It’s located inside the beast’s castle, and you can only go into the restaurant if you have a reservation, and trust me, you want to get a reservation even if it’s just to walk around the castle. The ballroom and the west wing have incredible detail and look as if you walked into the movie. Be Our Guest serves a quick service breakfast and lunch and a sit-down dinner, which are all delicious as I’ve been there for every meal. Don’t forget to have dessert because you need to try the gray stuff; it’s delicious!

2. 50’s Prime Time Café

Located in Hollywood Studios is the 50’s Prime Time Café, which as its name states, is a café themed in the 50’s, serving lunch and dinner. Complete with all classic 50’s furniture and decorations, the best part of this restaurant isn’t just the comfort food; it’s the wait staff. Not only are they dressed like waiters in the 50’s but they are also all about strict table manners and finishing your plate (that is if you want dessert). If you’re going here for dinner, make sure you are really hungry unless you want to get yelled at for not finishing your green beans.

3. 1900 Park Fare

This has to be the classiest buffet I’ve ever been too, probably because you’re eating with Cinderella, her stepsisters, and Prince Charming. Located on the first floor of the Grand Floridian, this buffet is the best of the best. You can fill up on their amazing prime rib and make-your-own baked potatoes, or wait until dessert to have some warm bread pudding or their famous strawberry soup.

4. Whispering Canyon Café

This is a must-do if you like to have a good time with family and friends while you eat. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, all family style. This café is located in the Wilderness Lodge, so the theme of the café is BBQ comfort food, including delicious ribs drenched in BBQ sauce with cornbread on the side. The wait staff here jokes around with you and even gets the entire restaurant to joke with you as well (If you don't believe me, just ask your waitress for ketchup and see what happens). Best part? UNLIMITED MILKSHAKES. Yes, UNLIMITED MILKSHAKES! So if you want to drink your body weight in strawberry, chocolate, vanilla or caramel milkshakes, this is the place to do so.

5. Chef Mickey's

This is the number one character buffet that Disney World has to offer. Located on the top of the Contemporary Resort, Chef Mickey's serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, probably because it’s one of the hardest restaurants to get into. Get ready to dive into a full buffet filled with Mickey waffles for breakfast or Mickey-themed desserts after dinner. Don’t forget to take a bunch of cute pictures with the original Disney gang, including Chef Mickey himself, of course!

I hope this gives you some extra motivation to go ahead and start planning your next Disney trip.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
