Keeping every hopeless romantic's dreams alive

Country Music is known for its love ballads and inspirational lyrics. What makes the music even more relatable is when you know that the artists writing the songs and performing the music are actually living what they sing. This is not to say that country music's top couples are perfect, because we all know that is not the case (*cough cough Miranda and Blake*), but there are certain couples that give all of us common folk something to admire and talk about. Here are my top five ranked favorite country couples.

5. Brad Paisley and Kimberly Williams-Paisley

4. Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman

These two Aussies might be my personal favorites. The couple met in 2005 at a Hollywood event supporting Australian-Americans and immediately hit it off. Keith once said, "Meeting Nicole was not life-changing, it was life-beginning." Their relationship was not always perfect, being that Keith was treated for alcohol and drug addiction early on, but the two have always supported each other and made life work for the past 11 years.

3. Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher

Also known as the most beautiful couple to walk the face of the Earth. Carrie met her NHL star back in 2008 but the couple was officially married in 2010. Since then, Carrie and Mike have stole the hearts of their fan-bases by sharing their relationship through social media. They also have a really adorable son who is blessed with the most talented parents.

2. Thomas Rhett and Lauren Akins

First of all, if you have never seen the video Thomas Rhett made of he and his wife's love story, please click here. The two were childhood best friends, but they didn't start dating until they were older. Thomas and Lauren got married in 2012 when both of them were only 22. Thomas has written two songs for his wife titled "Die a Happy Man" and "Star of the Show", which explain their love story way better than I ever could

1. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill

It would be unconventional for anyone other than this couple to top this countdown. Tim and Faith have been married for 20 years (yes, that's TWENTY). They fell in love when Faith opened for Tim during his 1996 tour. Faith Hill once said, "My husband and I have made the choice that our marriage is the most important thing to us", according to "The Boot". The couple has three daughters. Tim and Faith sing together regularly, and country music just can't get enough of them.

There are many other country couples that could have made this list, especially if we were to look back into the deep history of the genre. But today, these five couples are keeping every hopeless romantic's dreams alive.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
