I recently returned to one of my favorite cities... good ole' Nashville, Tennessee. I absolutely love this city; from the never-ending live country music, to the various southern comfort foods, it's an experience unlike any other. If you find yourself in the city anytime soon, here are a few things I would highly recommend checking out:
1. Biscuit Love
This was the very first stop my boyfriend and I made after landing in Nashville. DO NOT BE SCARED AWAY BY THE LINE! It moves very fast; they have to keep the line outside of the door due to fire hazards. Therefore, it always appears to be a much longer wait than it actually is.
We ordered the "East Nasty" which was fried chicken with sausage gravy on a fresh biscuit. I also ordered a caramel latte and not going to lie, it was one of the best coffees I have ever tried... and I am pretty particular (plus I loved the pumpkin in the foam, too cute!).
The restaurant was very trendy and an amazing experience with delicious food!
2. Broadway
We found our way down Broadway three separate times throughout our weekend in Nashville. The first day we walked through the shops, settled down in one of the bars and experienced really good live music. The nice thing about Nashville is if you don't like the music you're hearing- just keep walking and you will encounter various other country musicians.
I am a huge music fan; I grew up singing/performing so I have a large appreciation for live music. We ended up checking out several different bars by the end of our trip and got tasty drinks and food at each. Our favorite was the new Florida Georgia Line bar- definitely check it out!
We went to the predators game Saturday night which was super wild; the fans in Nashville are for sure something else, which made it all the more exciting. We then returned to Bridgestone Arena on Sunday to see The Weeknd who put on a phenomenal concert.
It was nice that we got to hang out downtown beforehand and simply walk over to the arena when it was time for each event. It is super convenient that the stadium is located in the center of downtown.
So make sure to set a night aside to make your way down Broadway- you won't (or maybe you will) regret it!
3. The Gulch
We were told by several friends that this was a very interesting area with lots of cool shops and good restaurants. Of course we took a pic at the classic "#WhatLiftsYou" mural at 302 11th Ave S. It was surprisingly not that busy and it's absolutely beautiful in person. Glad we snagged this picture as it was my birthday and I wanted something cute to post together. This is also where Biscuit Love was located and several other cool restaurants.
Make sure you are prepared to shop for some bigger pants after eating your heart out at the plethora of delectable restaurants in the Gulch!
4. East Nashville
We checked out East Nashville by total accident. I woke up hungry as a hippo and looked up good brunch areas near our Airbnb. I found The Frothy Monkey, which was another delicious breakfast place.
They had a diverse menu and a large bar for coffee and teas. The wait was similar to Biscuit Love but wasn't unbearable. The area was very young, a lot of trendy college/grad students which I personally liked.
We continued to walk around and found the "I Believe In Nashville" mural and had to get pics... duh! I really loved this area and we didn't even mean to find it! They had many cute areas to take pictures and various little shops.
Overall the city hosts many diverse events and areas to explore - I will be returning again no doubt. Do your research on what all the city offers compared to what you're interested in, and be prepared for lots of country music and good times!
