One of the hardest things about going to college out of state was leaving my mom. Like any other family, we inevitably have our ups and downs. My mom is definitely where I get my stubborn nature from. But she is still one of my favorite people no matter what. I have no idea what I would do without her. I could name 1,000 reasons as to why I think that my mom is the best, but here are a few reasons that sum it up:
1. She has always got my back.
She is always the first person that I go to when I am in trouble! She is the type of mom that would drop everything just to help me and I can’t thank her enough for that. She’s so selfless and always puts my brother and I before herself. I know that she won’t judge me and that she only wants what is best for me.
2. She puts me in my place.
There are way too many times when I argue about something because I think I’m 100% right. I’m also way too stubborn to admit I’m wrong. My mom isn’t afraid to tell me how it is and call me out when I am out of line. Although I might not like it at the time, I know that I will appreciate it in the long run.
3. We can talk about anything.
My mom knows how to talk to me about anything: boys, bad grades, the crazy things I do, etc. It is great becasue she had been in my shoes before, and she knows my daily st
From boys to bad grades to the crazy dumb things I did the night before, my mom knows just about everything. She has been in my shoes before, so she knows my struggles and she is always there to help and give advice.
4. She knows how to make everything better.
Sometimes I feel like my world is ending, I am drowning in homework, and struggling with college life in general. But, my mom always knows exactly what to say to get me to calm down and to think rationally about the situation at hand.
I know I don’t deserve all of the time and effort that my mom has put into raising me. But, words cannot express how thankful I am for her endless fountain of love and advice.
I love you, mom!
Love,
Your Daughter
