The Thrill Of Live Concerts

Music can be described as an annoyance by some or as a way of enjoying life by others. However, the experience of a live concert can be extremely magical as it has the ability to connect fans with their favorite artists. The longing and anticipation is a feeling that is worth feeling, and the adrenaline of crowds at concerts is absolutely incredible. As I await the Ed Sheeran concert that takes place on July 11, 2017, I reminisce on my past concert experiences, hoping that this concert will add to the magic that I have experienced over my lifetime.

In August of 2011, I experienced my first concert: Selena Gomez at the MannMusicCenter. Prior to the concert, I felt nervous but more importantly excited as I would be in the same room as one of my favorite artists. The feeling is indescribable as one waits to hear their favorite artist perform live music to them, their audience. Although concert tickets may be expensive, the experience is well worth it: being able to spend one night with someone you have looked up to makes spending the money and anticipation worth it.

Since August of 2011, I have been to concerts by some of my favorite artists: Bruno Mars, Shawn Mendes, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, and my absolute favorite, One Direction. Luckily, I also have many concerts to look forward to for the next couple months. In less than a week, I’ll be seeing Ed Sheeran; in October, I’ll be seeing Harry Styles; and in November, I’ll be seeing Imagine Dragons. As I wait in anticipation to see three of my all time favorite artists, I cannot help but remember how I felt at all the concerts I have been to. I am most excited for the concerts to come as I know the aura of live concerts will feel just as magical and indescribable as the ones I have been to in the past.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
