Fathers. We all have them. Some are present today, some are no longer with us. Some are here, some live elsewhere. Some we know, some we may never meet. Nonetheless, they are there. A lot of people are celebrating Father's Day with cards and gifts. But in the end, there's a few common things that everyone really wants to say to their fathers.
1. Who's going to take the bugs out of the house?
2. Who's going to fix the toilet when it's clogged?
3. Who's going to fix the sink?
4. Who's going to manage the expenses and tell us how to pay bills?
(Because no one my age truly knows what they are doing.)
5. Who's going to set up the furniture that does not (for some darn reason) come assembled?
6. Who's going to know where the passports and important documents are?
7. Who's going to know how to change the tire pressure in our bikes and cars?
8. Who's going to tell us where all the random shizzle we need is?
9. Who's going to call lawn mower? (hey, tall grass = more bugs)
10. Who's going to help with all the electronics and gadgets in the house?
11. Who's going to help pick up heavy items? (aka moving into college)
12. Who's going to be able to reach the high things when we can't?
13. Who's going to hang all the family picture frames on the walls?
14. Who's going to give us a lifetime supply of cables that somehow work in today's time and charge calculators and phones?
15. Who's going to dote on his little girl (who happens to be a college student)?
So thank you to all the Dads, Papas, Fathers, Babus, and Daddy's out there in the world. You're cooks, house guards, accountants, weight lifters, warriors (in terms of insects), and handymen all rolled into one.
P.S. Happy Fathers Day!
