1. You continue to send texts, hoping they will reply.
In the back of your mind, you know you will never get a response again but you're still hoping for the possibility of your messages saying "read" or the little snap chat arrow being opened.
2. Everything you do reminds you of them.
Every place in town reminds you of the restaurant you ate at together or funny memory you shared in front of a certain shop. Not to mention, every song that comes on the radio makes you believe it was specifically written for them.
3. You refer to them as if they are still here.
"She IS so beautiful" or "He is HAS the best smile" because you refuse to refer to them in past tense.
4. You often visit the place that they would be if they were still here.
You find yourself visiting their old house or favorite hangout, acting as if they could be inside.
5. You find yourself re-reading every single conversation you had online and reviewing all pictures taken together.
No matter how old, blurry or strange it is, no trace of your loved one will ever be erased just because they are.
6. You constantly hope for a better afterlife for them, even if you've never believed in a higher being.
Even if you've never been to church a day in your life, you constantly remind yourself that they are "in a better place".
7. Being out in public is a hard place to be while grieving, but being alone is even worse.
Being at work comes with people who don't care about your grief as much as you do, but being at home means you are stuck with your own thoughts for hours.
8. Endless dreams about your lost loved one are tough, but you crave them every night.
Ecstatic that you got the chance to see them again, filled with extreme sadness as you wake up to remember that it was not real.
9. Just when you start feeling like you've overcome the grief, it hits you all over again.
A hug from a close friend or a simple mention of your lost one's name creates a heart break all over again.
10. No other problem seems to matter anymore because you'd take anything over this new hurt that you are experiencing.
The only positive thing that comes from grief is remembering that your bills aren't so bad and every worry is only temporary.
