Terry Pratchett’s Discworld with Rincewind the “Wizzard”
My best friend’s expression when eating a gizzard
The thought that a nemesis looks much like a lizard
My own incalculable stupidity
The Muppets embroiled in outright gaiety
Celebrities status as well-night deity
Nonsensical syllables, pointless as they may be
Clinical depression
Schoeder, Linus, and good ole Chuck Brown
Those silly Shriners when the circus’s in town
The thought that one day my name is renowned
Because it seems rather unlikely
Not all results in total hilarity
Creating an impression of faint disparity
Yet they share this striking similarity
They all make me smile
Ack! So much poetry lately, and I fear there's more to come, out of necessity even more than desire. This one was composed for a creative writing class, briefly describing a few oddities that I enjoy. Unfortunately, that's about all the backstory there is, but come find me sometime, bring up one of those subjects, and let us releases those barrels of laughter together!
