Thank you!

Those two words don’t even skim the surface when it comes to trying to express the gratitude that I have towards the Tennessee Wraith Chasers (TWC) and stars of the hit paranormal investigation show “Ghost Asylum”. Another major “thank you” goes out to all of the fans for all of your support on my last article, Why I Love The Tennessee Wraith Chasers.

To everyone that liked, shared, commented, retweeted, etc. on my article–I am so grateful to all of you! I loved reading all of your comments and seeing so many of the fans that love TWC like I do. That’s actually one of the things that I want to focus on in this article–the fans. You hear about so many famous people that are so full of themselves. They become famous through some type of industry, make money off of their fame, forget where they came from and forget about their fans. That’s not the case with TWC, though. I can assure you of that.

For those that don’t know, I was blessed with the opportunity to meet TWC! Prior to meeting them, I was nervous like any fan would be. Most of all, though, I was ecstatic to have this opportunity. Ever since I watched the show for the first time, I knew that I wanted to meet the guys. They were kind, down to Earth, hilarious and, most importantly, they were good Christian men. What's not to love, right? Well, all of the nerves that were bottled up inside of me went away after the first few minutes with the guys. They didn’t come in with bad attitudes nor did they act like they were better than me. Instead, they were extremely friendly when we met and throughout the rest of the time that we spent together.

I thought to myself about how kind it was of the guys to visit with me. This act of kindness showed me just how much they really care about all of us. During the visit, the guys mentioned multiple times how much they love their fans. They hear us, y’all–they see all of the love and praise that the fans send to them on their various social media pages and they truly appreciate it.

Looking back, I can honestly say that I’ve never met a more genuine group of men. What you see on television and on social media is what you get with TWC. They believe in their work and they’re constantly working to further their research. The determination and work ethic that they have is inspiring. They’re also a great example of what a group of friends should be. They’re supportive, caring and they thoroughly enjoy each other’s company.

We can all learn some very important lessons from the Tennessee Wraith Chasers:

1. It is important to continue studying so that we can become more knowledgeable in our fields.

2. It’s important to be kind to everyone.

3. To be kind to one another doesn’t cost a dime.

4. It’s important to be yourself.

5. No matter how successful you are, stay humble.

6. Remember where you came from and the people that helped you get where you are today.

7. If you want something, work for it.

8. Stay true to yourself.

9. Faith is the most important thing to hold on to.

10. To grow in our faith and share it with others is a beautiful thing.

When you see these men interact with the people around them and each other, you know that they’re just like us. Sure, they’re extremely amazing, they have one of the best shows on TV, and they’re extremely successful, but that doesn’t make them any different from us. They know that and now I know that.

To spend time with this incredible group of men was such a blessing. As I mentioned in my previous article about TWC, they truly care about each other. Watching them interact together, you could just see how close they all are. Not only are they dedicated to their work, but they’re dedicated to each other. What they do on the show isn’t just an act. They talk the talk and walk the walk. The Tennessee Wraith Chasers lead by example, and I learned so much from them. It was definitely a meeting that I’ll never forget and one that I’ll cherish for the rest of my life.

Thank you for your time, Mr. Mike, Mr. Porter and Mr. Chris. Y’all are such incredible role models for people to look up to, and I will forever be a fan not only of “Ghost Asylum” and TWC, but a fan of each of you as well!

Much love to each and every one of you!

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

Yes, it IS a sport. Yes, I fall all the time. No, I do not ride in jeans with a cowgirl hat on.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.
