To The Team Who Never Gave Up On Me

I have had a lot of people come and go in my life but I have never met a group of people who are as genuine and supportive as you are. In such a short amount of time you have grown to be my best friends. I know I can always count on every single one of you to pick me up when I am down and for that I have to thank you.

To the team who never gave up on me when I was ready to give up on myself:

Thank you for always giving me motivation to be the best version of myself. It is because of you that I have pushed myself to overcome my fears and work towards a better me. You guys are beyond inspirational and I look up to you more than you will ever know.

Thank you for being my smile. No matter what is going on in my life I can always find myself smiling and laughing with you no matter how bad things are. Your happiness is contagious and I cannot help but look at the good when I am with you. You never fail to put a smile on my face and motivate me to look at the positives.

Thank you for the memories. The times I have spent with you have been the best ones. These are the memories I am going to remember for the rest of my life and because of you I will look back and not be able to do anything but smile. You are the definition of my happiness and I would not want it any other way.

Thank you for supporting me no matter what. With all this craziness in life, I know I can always count on you to support me no matter what path I decide to take. You are by far the most supportive people I have ever met and I cannot thank you enough for making me feel loved and supported through anything.

Thank you for getting me through the good and the bad. You guys have been there through it all, some of the greatest accomplishments and some on the worst moments. Through anything you have always been there. You are always there to get just as excited as I do about the little things or cry with me when circumstances are not always on my side. Thank you for pushing me to accomplish things that I have always wanted to and for continuing to motivate me.

Thank you for welcoming me into your life with open arms. Coming into college I would have never imagined we would become as close we are. I never thought I would find a group of girls like you and I am so thankful that I did. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your life and welcoming me into your life. Over a year ago we barely knew each other and today I could not imagine my life without you.

Most importantly, thank you for believing in me when I didn't believe in myself. Thank you for never giving up on me when I gave up on myself. No matter where life takes us just know that you all will always have a very special place in my heart. Thank you for everything, thank you for helping me become someone I am proud of and for constantly inspiring me to accomplish my goals. It is because of you that I am where I am today and I am so lucky. Thank you for everything you have done for me.

Sincerely,

Your teammate.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
