We've all experienced it before... the end of the weekend creeps up on you and you're forced to face the looming nightmare of knowing you have to go back to reality and start a new week in just a few short hours. You've avoided any and all responsibilities all weekend and have waited until the last possible second to check Canvas and see what assignments you have due that week and that's when you come down with a case of the Sunday Scaries.

1. The moment you realize that tomorrow is Monday.

You try to play it cool and act like you're not having a complete mental breakdown, but you are physically incapable of remaining calm.

2. Denial.

The sadness hasn't quite hit you yet because it's still pretty early in the day and Sunday Funday is just getting started. You can worry about school later.

3. You choose to hang with your friends instead of doing anything remotely responsible.

4. That one friend brings up school and kills the mood for everyone.

5. It starts to hit you.

You slowly get slammed with the reality that you have class tomorrow morning, 4 exams, 3 papers, and a speech this week that you've done absolutely nothing to prepare for.

6. You finally muster up the courage to check Canvas.

And then instantly regret looking.

7. Panic.

8. Utter depression.

9. You look for any source of happiness to make you feel better.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
