The Sun Will Rise And He Will Reign

What do you cling to when this world is becoming so dark?

The Sun Will Rise And He Will Reign
Taylor Whitsel

Have you ever gone to bed one night and thought to yourself, "I wonder if the sky will be blue tomorrow or if the sun will rise?". No? Me either. There are certain things in life that we just know within ourselves will happen. Now, have you ever gone to bed doubting God and His plans? Be honest. I have. Some people may read that and bash me, but it's the truth. However, there is something that needs to be realized; God is in control, just as the Sun rises and sets, He still reigns.

He is in control and He reigns, no matter how dark the world might become.

There have been times in my life that I have felt like everything was crumbling down on top of me. There have been times when I have been confused with events going on and there have been times that I cried out to God to do SOMETHING! But something I have come to realize is even in the midst of the storms, the Lord is working.

As Christians, we have truth to cling to and to turn to, during the good, the bad, and the ugly. This isn't going to be a political post, but one thing I do want to say is this; this world is becoming darker day by day, but one thing we need to remember as Christians is we need to step up now more than ever. We need to love. We need to pray. We need to serve. We need to disciple. We all have very different opinions on the events that are taking place around the world and right in our hometowns, but rather than stress about it or become bitter and angry, we need to hold to the fact that God is in control ultimately. He knows what will occur tomorrow and He knows what will happen 20 years from now.

My question to you as a Christian is, are you going to sit back and grumble about what all is going on or are you going to get out and do something about it in a Christ-like way?

We have two choices: Be in the world but not of it and be lights for Jesus, or we can be in the world and conform to all the hate that is going on. I don't know about you, but I know what I am going to do.

Today I urge you to love as Christ loves. Together as Christians, we can help but this world back together piece by piece and it starts with us realizing that God is in control today, tomorrow, and forever.

You are a senior in high school, you have made it to the final year that you have been looking forward to since the first day of freshman year. Whether this has been the worst or best four years of your life, appreciate it. You will never have these times back, you will never be in high school again. It is hard for someone still in high school to wrap their brain around, but there will be a day when you wish you could be in the shoes you're in right now. Here are 15 things I have learned being in college that I wish I knew as a high school senior:

Trust me, once you start "One Tree Hill", you will be hooked. There's way too many reasons to list as to why you'll love this show, and these are just a few.

The first two weeks of classes have come to an end and they have been anything BUT easy. It seems like life has been serving up more bad than good and in all honesty, the only thing you want to do is crawl under your covers and hide from the rest of the world.

Although this seems like the best solution, it is also the easy way out. Take it from the girl who took basically a whole week off from her life because she just could not handle everything that was being thrown at her. This caused her to feel extremely lonely and even more stressed out for being behind in classes that JUST began.

11 Things We Learned From Brooke Davis

"What's more important? What we become or how we become it?"

Brooke Davis

"She was fiercely independent, Brooke Davis. Brilliant, and beautiful, and brave. In two years she had grown more than anyone I had ever known. Brooke Davis is going to change the world someday, and I'm not sure she even knows it." - Lucas Scott, An Unkindness of Ravens

Brooke Davis of the hit show One Tree Hill was the it girl - she had it all, or so we thought. She started out as a stuck-up, shallow, spoiled, head cheerleader who didn't have her life together. She slept around a lot and loved to party - sounds like your typical high school teenager right? Wrong. B. Davis had so much more to offer. Caring, loyal, and outspoken, she has taught us some valuable lessons throughout the 9 seasons that OTH was on the air:
