Life is hard. The world is cruel. It's easy to get discouraged as Christians in our daily lives on Earth. But here are some quotes and Bible verses as a gentle and loving reminder of who you are called to be. Just keep on keeping on, friends. Jesus loves you!

You will never regret being kind.

Be kind and tender to one another. Forgive one another, just as God forgave you because of what Christ has done. Ephesians 4:32

Love your neighbor as yourself. Mark 12:31

A moment of patience in a moment of anger saves you a hundred moments of regret.

Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. James 1:19-20

Whoever is patient has great understanding, but one who is quick-tempered displays folly. Proverbs 14:29

Do what is right, not what is easy.

But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame. 1 Peter 3:14-16

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9

You are the one someone is praying for.

I have found the one whom my soul loves. Song of Solomon 3:4

Every good and perfect gift is from God. This kind of gift comes down from the Father who created the heavenly lights. These lights create shadows that move. But the Father does not change like these shadows. James 1:17

If the words you spoke appeared on your skin, would you still be beautiful?

Be careful what you say and protect your life. A careless talker destroys himself. Proverbs 13:3

Those who guard their mouths and their tongues keep themselves from calamity. Proverbs 21:23

When God sees you doing your part, developing what He has given you, then He will do His part and open doors that no man can shut.

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31

Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. Psalm 23:6

What you allow, is what will continue.

Let the one who does wrong continue to do wrong; let the vile person continue to be vile; let the one who does right continue to do right; and let the holy person continue to be holy. Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. Revelation 22:11-12

Don't dig up in doubt what you planted in faith.

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

Look at the birds of the air. They don’t plant or gather crops. They don’t put away crops in storerooms. But your Father who is in heaven feeds them. Aren’t you worth much more than they are? Can you add even one hour to your life by worrying? Matthew 6:26-27

Once you need less, you will have more.

Jesus answered, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me." Matthew 19:21

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. Matthew 6:19-20

Don't rush anything. When the time is right, it will happen.

When the time is right, I, The Lord, will make it happen. Isaiah 60:22

For everything there is a season, and a time for very purpose under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1

Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times if one only remembers to turn on the light.

Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for those who are gracious and compassionate and righteous. Psalm 112:4

That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:10

You can preach a better sermon with your life than with your lips.

Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. 1 John 2:4

And so the Lord says, “These people say they are mine. They honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. And their worship of me is nothing but man-made rules learned by rote." Isaiah 29:13

Your weakness is a vessel for His power and your flaws a canvas for His grace.

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:9

Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Philippians 3:12

There is a joy that God gives which is available that the deepest grief cannot put out. No circumstances or person can take away.

You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy. Psalm 30:11

Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy. John 16:22

Relying on God has to begin all over again, every day, as if nothing has yet been done.

Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, and He will do it. Psalm 37:5

Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken. Psalm 55:22

God will either give us what we ask, or give us what we would have asked if we knew everything He knows.

His eyes are on their ways. Job 24:23

You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You understand my thought from afar. You scrutinize my path and my lying down, And are intimately acquainted with all my ways. Psalm 139:2-3

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us --whatever we ask -- we know that we have what we asked of him. 1John 5:14-15

When you cannot sleep at night, have you ever thought maybe it was God saying, "We need to talk and you now have time?"

Pray without ceasing. 1 Thessalonians 5:17

The LORD is near to all them that call on him, to all that call on him in truth. Psalm 145:18

Remember, God would never take something away from you without the intention of replacing it with something much better.

What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ. Philippians 3:8

Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised. Job 1:21

If God answers your prayers, He is increasing your faith. If He delays, He is increasing your patience. If He doesn't answer, He has something better planned for you.

Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, "Move from here to there," and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. Matthew 17:20

Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near. James 5:7-8

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
