The Struggles Of College As Told By 'The Office'

College is a time for exploration and forgiving yourself. Missing your 8 a.m. because you overslept is bound to happen at least once. We've all had our rough days. But the good thing is that they are learning experiences for us, and that we can use these four years as an encouraged time to put the training wheels on and start carving out our adult lives. Falling down, getting back up again, it's going to happen. And what better way to explain these struggles than by using clips from "The Office?"

1. When your 8 a.m. takes attendance.

2. When your professor sends out an extra assignment over email.

3. When you are applying for internships, and your potential employer says that they are looking for interns with great people skills.

4. When you see your friends going out and you still have to study for a huge exam.

5. When your roommate tells you that you should stop studying and get some sleep.

6. When you browse Tinder and you see that no one has swiped right on your profile.

7. When your mom and dad visit for parents' weekend and buy you all the merch from the bookstore.

8. When you call your mom asking for money.

9. When you had a little bit too much fun on social media that weekend.

10. The face that your RA makes when they write up the people across the hall at 2 a.m. on a Wednesday.

11. When your relatives ask you how your love life is doing.

12. When you are prepping yourself before a job fair.

13. When you get a good grade on an exam that you didn't study for.

14. Your mindset when you go to a party but all you want to do is watch Netflix and curl up in your PJs.

15. What it feels like being the designated driver.

16. When you take an oral exam for your foreign language requirement.

17. When your roommate needs a wingman even though you told them you just wanted to stay in.

18. When your parents visit and see a dage by your dorm.

19. When you and your roommate are trying to subtly hint to one another to clean up the living room.

20. But you know that no matter how many nights you spend on the struggle-bus, you will look back on these memories as some of the greatest times of your life.

I thought senioritis in high school was rough until I became a college senior about to go into the real world. I'm supposed to have everything figured out, right? College is filled with many things, and we're so often lectured to make the right decisions as we head out on our own into the college life. But sometimes it's necessary to indulge in some guilty pleasures as well as just doing things because you can. And honestly, a lot of the time it's inevitable. College is no piece of cake that's for sure, so it's okay to do some things you deep down know you shouldn't....once in a while anyways.
