If you are a fellow shopaholic, then you know that these struggles are all very real. You have an undying love with retail therapy and truly believe in its benefits. Well, you are not alone in this endeavor. I understand that with great pleasure also comes great struggle.
You always have justifiable reasons for why you are buying something. "I will wear these at my best friends wedding in five years and they will match perfectly." Yeah, we have all done it.
Every now and then you try to put money back to "be a responsible adult" and then you see that the dress you have wanted for months is finally on sale. Then you have to get matching shoes, jewelry, etc.
That sad moment when you fall totally in love with something only to realize that in order to buy it you would have to win the lottery or be a Kardashian. And both odds are very unlikely.
When you realize that you will never be rich enough to feed your addiction. "How many cookout trays will these shoes buy? and how important is my rent this month?"
When you get stuck at home or you're supposed to be doing homework, but you really just go crazy online shopping.. Only to realize in the morning that you have a problem.
Checking your bank account after going to the mall and slowly dying at how little you see. We have all spent a little too much money on a pair of shoes that we have three others like it at home.
When someone asks you why you feel the need to spend so much money on things. It just makes you happy so who cares? Everything is right in that moment, maybe not when you need to buy gas or food, but in that moment it is wonderful.
So fellow shopaholics, I feel your pain (and also your happiness). We all have these struggles, but at least we look good doing it.
