Yep, all the pale girls gather around. We go through a struggle not many people, unless you're pale, know about. I'm here to just point out and at least try to make our daily struggles a little bit funny. So here's 10 things that I think we pale people can relate to:
1) Bright colors don't mix well with white
You always see these tan girls rocking the hell out of neon colors. Neon doesn't mix well with white...and it's severely depressing.
2) Whatever you do, don't lift your shirt up in direct sun light
Seriously don't. People within a 5 mile radius be prepared to be blinded by the sun's rays bouncing off of our white stomachs.
3) Yes, neon white is a color
It's my skin tone. I promise.
4) The constant jokes
No. Please. Continue.
5) Tanning beds= a no go
Warning: you WILL turn into a flaming hot Cheeto. The color as well as the burning sensation.
6) Permanently salty at naturally tan people
7) Yes. The sun is scary
Sunburns are the worst. Peeling is equally as bad.
8) You somehow get even more pale during the winter.
Someone explain to me how this is possible. If I fell down a snowy mountain, I would never be found. Also, sunscreen is needed during the winter. Seriously.
9) The fear of skin cancer
This is actually serious and is really scary.
We are the people on the beach with a towel over their whole body while under an umbrella trying to protect our fragile skin.
10) The overwhelming insecurity during the summer
The summer months are hell not only because of sunburns, but because it's bikini season... It's already hard enough to find a color that looks good on your skin, add the fact that you're going to blind everyone in a 10 mile radius and get embarrassed all at the same time. You just feel so different because you aren't super tan like the rest of the world.
This might seem like I am hating on pale skin, I promise you I'm not (I am very pale myself). I'm just laughing at it and all of the problems that come with it (and I probably missed some). I have come to just accept it and laugh at the problems that are thrown my way. Hey, tan skin is for the birds right?
