Some girls are gifted with the ability to do hair well. Others are just lucky and can whip their hair up in a bun like it is no problem. I am neither of these girls. I am the girl who spends a minimum of 10 to 15 minutes in the mirror trying to get my “messy bun”-look perfect. I am sure that I am not alone in the struggle to master the look of the perfect “messy bun,” though, and here's why:

1. You have too much hair

There's just way too much of it to possibly put it in a bun and have it stay there for the entire day.

2. You don't have enough hair

You can't seem to remember why you ever thought cutting your hair was a good thing. You start to question if you even have enough hair to put it up in a bun!

3. You have thick hair

Girls with thin hair can't even begin to understand this struggle.

4. You missed a whole chunk of hair

You put your hair up in a bun only to realize that you missed a big chunk and half of it is actually still down.

5. You already broke your hair tie

The worst feeling is hearing that snap and seeing that your hair tie broke and now you have to start from scratch all over again.

6. You can't get it to look like the YouTube tutorial

You swear that you did everything the girl in the YouTube tutorial told you to do to make your perfect messy bun, yet her's looks amazing and yours ... does not.

7. You see too many bumps

There're too many bumps to go out in public with your hair looking like this.

8. You make it too pointy, too lumpy — it's just not right

Now you're just getting frustrated with yourself and wondering how you cannot grasp this concept.

We all understand the struggle of trying to master that perfect "messy bun"-look. If you are like me, though, and understand many of these struggles, try using some of these links to help make your process of making a "messy bun" a little easier! I have found some to be extremely helpful! Good luck!

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
