Amidst all the talk and controversy surrounding the election it was hard for many to not voice their opinion surrounding the decision. The concession of Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election was unexpected for many; however, the victory of Donald Trump marked to first step towards American Progress in the eyes of his supporters. While there were allegations surrounding both candidates, it’s important to remember that even if the opposition won the election, there still would have been protests and outcries from their respective supporters.

Some people fear what Trump will be able do with a Republican controlled government; however, it’s important to remember that like everything in nature, people in government and their policies are only temporary. The president isn’t the only one responsible for creating change in the government. In the next two years, voters can judge the actions of their representatives and make their voice heard by voting. In this case, a majority of the people were tired of the seemingly small amount of progress regarding America’s state. Trump represented the possibility of real change in the American government.

Regardless of people’s political affiliation, what matters is that people went out and supported who they believe will benefit America the most. Donald Trump could cause irreversible damage to our nation’s foundations, or he could be the leader in a political revolution against established ways. Either way, the only way to see would be to watch, judge his actions, and vote for him or against him four years from now. We all want a better tomorrow and a stronger America.

Everything in life is temporary, and the world will continue to spin in its perpetual orbit around the sun. For now, that is a constant. In the words of Barack Obama, "No matter what happens, the sun will rise in the morning.”

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection.
