Summer is officially over (well not technically) but for all students going back to school it is. In high school, we always dreaded having to go back to school because that meant 8 hours of learning... Who would really want to do that? But as a college student, most of us are more than ready to go back. Not really because of the education part but getting to reconnect with our friends that did not live within 10 miles of our hometowns. Also coming back to college means getting to see the beautiful campus that we all love so much. Every year we always tell ourselves, "This is going to be the year I do so well in my courses. I am going to study in advance and read all of the assigned pages! I will get all A's!" Wel,l we could all dream, right? You go off to the store and buy all the needed supplies. This time, you buy a calendar or a planner that you do plan to use all the time. Then the emails from your professors start to roll in saying, "Time for another great semester! Here's your syllabus". Aka meaning here is all of the assignments and tests that are going to ruin your life. You might even have those one professors that email you over the summer, "It's already June so you should be preparing for my course already. Please read Chapter 1 and start doing these assignments." That's when you know this class and the professor are going to be pure Hell.

All of us on day one of classes are so optimistic and excited to do well in all of our classes. Week 1 is a college student's favorite time not only because of Welcome Week but also because classes this week will only go over the syllabus. Bless week 1. Week 2 comes around and we are trying to stay positive that we will strive and do our best. We write down all the assignments and tests into the calendar or planner we purchased and automatically freeze. What is this professor trying to do to me? Don't they know I have a job and a social life? Life gives us a little swift kick and says "Welcome to adulthood." Our hope starts to deteriorate after we take that first test. We study hard (or so we think) and we didn't do as well as we were hoping. So we start to slack off a little or push studying back closer to the due date. Getting back into the swing of things makes us realize why we were slackers in the first place. Studying sucks. It literally drains us and all we want to do is curl into a ball and cry. To be honest, most of us lose the motivation we had at the beginning of the semester after the first month. It is true and we might hate to admit it but we all get tired after the first few weeks. I can tell you I am wishing for winter break already after looking at all of my assignments, tests, quizzes, and projects that are due coming up. We all wish for it but now is the time to focus on school. *Sigh* Make sure you do take those Netflix or ice cream breaks though because we all deserve it. Happy studying and may the odds be ever in your favor.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
