With finals of the fall semester behind us, let us reflect on the various stages that make up the dreaded week before a much needed Winter Break. And what better way to do so than through channeling a favored television series!

Stage 1: Waiting for finals to be over.

"One more test and then I can go home," was definitely the quote running through my head just before break began. Running on a small amount of sleep and fighting a major headache because of all the studying you've done it's easy to say that you feel just like Chris Traeger in this gif. Mostly because though you feel terrible, you still have to function for your remaining finals.

Stage 2: Finally finishing that last exam and being able to head home to enjoy the things you couldn't take with you to college

Yep, that's right. It's time to celebrate and do your happy dance because you're finally finished with the previous semester! So get ready to pack up, go home and enjoy all of the holiday festivities that Winter Break brings.

Stage 3: Welcoming in the holidays

Holiday tunes, home cooked meals, endless dancing and time with family the holidays are the best part, in my opinion, that Winter Break has to offer. Plus, who doesn't love sleeping in their own bed?

Stage 4: Reaching the point where you've had enough of your family and are ready to head back to school

Mostly everyone gets to this point of break, where the joys of the holidays are beginning to wear off and all your want to do is get back to campus where you can reunite with your ride or dies. Being home was good, but now it's time to get back to college life where there aren't family members asking who you're dating, if you've found the perfect major or know what you want to do with the rest of your life.

Stage 5: Packing up and heading back to college brings mixed feelings because you miss all of your friends from school but aren't ready to get back to learning

If only college could all play and no work, but sadly that's not the case. It's time to start preparing for a new semester with new classes, more books and new introductions. At least you don't have to worry about it until you actually step onto campus.

Stage 6: Arriving back on campus and not wanting to get ready for a brand new spring semester

Say it ain't so! The drive is over and the reality of school beginning again is really setting in. If it hasn't been done already, it's time to buy new books, new supplies and maybe a few new outfits because the first couple of days in new classes with new people call for more first impressions.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering.
