The Stages of Pulling An All Nighter For A Test

Better to laugh than cry about it, right?

1. You sit in your afternoon class thinking about how you're going to accomplish it all...

2. But it's still the afternoon, and you realize you have so much time. "Maybe I won't have to pull an all-nighter," you naively think to yourself.

3. It's now past dinner time, and you open your book. You realize how much material you have not retained from class, and an overwhelming sensation of nervousness briefly hits you.

4. You quickly shake your nerves off. There's just no time to panic. It's game. time.

5. A while goes by, and you're starting to lose focus...and energy.

6. How can you continue when your attention span is the size of a pin needle? So you take a small break to go on social media.

7. At some point, you stop scrolling, and you get back to studying. All you're thinking is:

8. Your roommates see how distraught you are, so they try to amp you up. You're appreciative, but it doesn't really work.

9. Eventually, you go to bed. You set your alarm for a time that will allow at least 1 hour of sleep.

10. You barely sleep. You wake up wanting to do this:

11. But thankfully, you quickly get your ish together. It's almost going to be over, and you tell yourself you got this. Because you do.

12. You walk into the test like:

13. And it's not as bad as you expected. You nailed it.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
