The Stages of Procrastination
Huffington Post

I am a procrastinator. Actually, I would say I am a professional procrastinator. Yep. That is me. College has taught me many things, but I would say the skills of cramming are high on the list. There are some people who are overachievers and do assignments weeks early and have no guilt sitting on the couch doing nothing. I, on the other hand, fit into a category most college students are in…. and that is the procrastination category. These are the stages of procrastination that all professional procrastinators can relate to:

1. Taking action:

You write down your assignment due date in your agenda and bury your rubric deep into your notebook

2. Mapping out your plan:

You notice you have a whole 7 days before you even have to start worrying about this so-called project, so you relax and do other important things.

3. First attempt:

Finally realize you have 3 days before your assignment is due, so you try to sit down to start it…. But you realize your room is messy so you clean it up instead.

4. Satisfying other needs first:

Uh oh? Is that your stomach rumbling? Better eat first.

5. On the way to the kitchen you see your roommates watching your favorite movie, so you join in.

It will still give your plenty of time to finish your work.

6. Ughh… well now that the movies done better start on that project. Oh wait, its 12 a.m. You better just got to bed and wake up early tomorrow so You can start fresh.

7. Wake up & realize you have a day to finish your assignment

8. You hold it off for a few more hours… coffee first

9. Finally start working & at the same time coming to the conclusion on how much you hate yourself for not starting sooner

10.*Checks phone

11. Sits down for real this time. Let’s do this.

12. Hold up... it's time for a quick bathroom break!

13. Sits down and starts making an outline for the assignment. Realizes getting this thing wont take that long, so you sigh in relief and go back to relaxing.

14. 10p.m. & project is due at 12a.m.

15.Buckles down to work in record speed.

16. Turns in the assignment

17.Looks in mirror to give yourself in a pep talk about how you need to get your life together and do better next time.

18.Gets a new assignment the next day, repeat to step 1

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
